Leg vise

Hi all, I picked up this leg vise today at a moving sale and can’t find much info on it. It looks like the handle may have been replace at some point. Does anyone here have any info on it? I still have to wipe it down to see if I can find a makers mark. Paid $50 for it.

What Mr. Wonderful said! Been looking for years, I see them in the wild all the time, $100 minimum, always hoping to find a seller not in the know or happy to take less. Not to pick nits, and you probably already recognize this, but the spindle is likely not original. I often say that sometimes things like that do not diminish the value, and this is a good case. Someone extended that old workhorse's life with an effective easy replacement and it doesn't look half bad either. I could be wrong, but I have never seen one like that.

Yes, I agree. Also, I didn’t notice the spindle until I got home. It’s a cool vise.

I've got a similar one I'll never use. Good timing to remind me to get it out and pass it along to someone who might actually use it.
