HD has this Legend Force tiller on sale today. Good price for this size and style of tiller.
Never heard of this brand. Engine is Legend Force brand.
How bad could it be?
Would it just be a disposable unit - first time something fails, you just throw it away and start over?

I find it hard to believe the regular price is $650, but I'm probably a couple decades out of the loop. A tiller at $250 for that size isn't a bad buy, but it's no ground breaker. For worked soil and minimum stones it should be up to the task of weeding and bed preparation. I'm sure it's all chinese, but I'd certainly give it a good look for $250.

Read the reviews? :dunno:

I have had it nearly a year (5/24/22)-(5/04/23). It is a tough tiller and does a great job. Weather breaking new ground or old it is great. I have one tine broke today and another close to breaking from rocks wedging against the housing, but I am not having any luck finding replacement tines.

Just looking at it looks like it has weak tines.

That's pretty much the tiller.

Heck, I paid more than that for my Mantis.

From another review: The Legend Force rear tine tiller is great for gardens that have been previously tilled and all impediments have been removed. In areas that have not yet been worked and obstacles like rocks and roots are present, this tiller is not the machine for the job.

Are the side by sides they sell legend force as well?

Sounds like no-name offshore junk, likely good for a year and then won't start next season and parts/model are obsolete.

If your "bustin' sod", nothing beats a Troy Bilt. The old Craftsman Rear Tine was pretty good !

Wow! There is no possible way that thing can be any good at all for $200 unless they are really just trying to unload them at a loss. It'd basically cost that much just to buy the engine at Harbor Freight!

I don't know how you could say it's a "good price"! It's an insane price for a tiller of that construction and size. If it makes a whole 10 feet before blowing up, I'd call it a rousing success at that price point!

It's down to $200 now. I haven't a use for a tiller, but I'm tempted to go have a look.

When I saw the reviews talking about belts, I figured most were either the sort of people that stick their **** into a toaster, or were confused about models. Just for clarification It has 1/4" thick steel tines.20230729_165754.jpg

Cheap enough to try out. 20230727_092115.jpg
I had to after seeing yours. It's worth it to just test the market, I have a very specific job of repairing where a plumber left a bad surface after a drain replacement. The dirt is rock free, just needs a little help to spread.

$215 all in.

I plan to use it for some landscaping at my fathers house this next week, my first tiller. Went together easy and is built quite well on the outside.

Home Depot can **** a dirty ********.

75% of their junk online is "not available in Alaska". Not usually an issue at Lowes.
