Lenco panelspotter

I just picked up a older Lenco Panelspotter from a body shop closing as is I knew the shop,and it used to work for them. There not around anymore for me to talk to. So i have power into the machine going through the 60A cartridge fuse but nothing happening after it Anyone out there able to diagnose this. thanks

Do you know now it operates? Once the power switch is on you hold the two ”stingers” against the material and push the button on the stinger, the button starts the timer ( setting on the machine) and the machine sends the timed current to the stingers. There is no control of the “heat” for the spot weld, just the time the current is on.
Lenco is still in business, they are in Kansas if I remember correctly.

So maybe I’m being pedantic here but there definitely is control of the heat, it just isn’t a setting on the machine. You control it manually. If you push harder there’s a larger and more uniform electrical contact to the panel, which causes less resistance, which creates less heat. If you barely touch the tool to the panel you’ll get a poor connection… lots of resistance… lots of heat… and probably rip a hole in the panel

And yes they are still in business, I’ve emailed with them within the last year.

I have one of these but I have the clamp style end. I will say your pieces need to be clean and have good contact for it to work.

I played around with it and galvanized and it did not work very well to the point that I thought it was broken.

My suggestion is to clean everything really well including all connections and try again.

Whats a realistic price for a used one? I have one that I need to sell to free up some space.

Maybe $300.00 to $400.00. Kind of depends. Most were very neglected and worked hard and put away wet, so to speak. Not used very much in modern collision repair.
