Lending Tools...Yes or No?

There are tools and then there are tools. I live out in the country and it doesn't make sense for my neighbors and I to own all the necessary big expensive tools so we meet out by the mailboxes and agree...I'll buy the log splitter, you buy the auger, Joe buys the Box Blade...etc. Loaning borrowing is critical to having good stuff for us.

As for hand tools I'm the same as many here...sure, to the right people.

Hope to never be "past all that".
I guess it depends on what "that" means to you.

I still have plenty of fun in my cars, but the idiocy of my 20's is something that's long gone. Nobody who's having my kind of fun in cars would never bother to ask about the "good" one.

I have a lot of tools and now keep a "check out" log for tools leaving one of the garages/shop. Of the tools lent, they tend to be very large tools such as a metal brake or very inexpensive tools no longer used (and will not be missed). When purchasing the farm, the sale included a vast supply of inexpensive tools, mostly Chinese, so anyone can borrow/take those. Many better quality tools never leave the garages/shops.
