Less than 100% solids

I am not looking for the "Money Shot Floor", just a good durable epoxy coating to protect the concrete and make spills (gas, oil, etc) easy to clean up.

I will spend the time and effort to properly prep (grind/clean) this new slab.
I am looking at legacy's "Standard Epoxy primer/coating" in 2 coats (tinted to my color), it is a 55% solids, then top coat with urethane clear.

Or Garage Flooring LLC's 93% solids epoxy with urethane clear top coat.

I am considering these to over 100% solids for ease of application.

My sq footage is 640, and does not really fall in any kit size.

I liked the coats of Legacy's Primer/coating, as a 5 gal pail would fit my sq footage with 2 coats.

Does anyone have any "user" experience with these two products.

I don't have any direct 'user' experience with either of those products, but I have only ever used high solids >65% epoxy's and never had any issues. I also use a 2 part polyurethane top coat. My primer was the high solids epoxy with 5% thinner. You'll find the lower solids easier to work and with longer pot life.

Both of those vendors are highly regarded in this community.

What ever epoxy I use, it will be from a GJ vendor.
I may be wrong, but it looks like the "epoxy primers" are high solids epoxy that has been thinned?
I am a contractor/builder, but an amateur with epoxy floor coatings. I am slightly worried with the 100% solids epoxy, due to the pot life and not being able to roll them on.

I was leaning towards Legacy's Epoxy primer/coating (55% solids) because I can get it in a 5 gal quantity, that would work perfect for 2 coats in my 640 sq ft application.

What is the difference between the 1 part and 2 part urethane clear top coat ?

"Epoxy primer" is a vague term. Our Standard Epoxy Primer is not a thinned solids epoxy. It is purposely designed to be what it is, a mid-solids penetrating primer. Two coats of this primer is also considered to be a "thin mil" system and is very popular in warehouses, large areas, etc... Photo is (2) coats of our Standard Epoxy Primer with a top-coat of urethane.

That said, you could actually take 100% solids epoxy, thin it with xylene, and use it as a primer. I would not thin more than 10%.

I hate to beat a dead horse but concentrate on your preparation. Preparation is the key to a successful DIY garage epoxy project.

I am just waiting on the weather (Heat is not hooked up yet)
I WILL be renting a "prep grinder" even though it is a new slab (9 months old)
My slab is new and in perfect shape, So I feel I do not need a "High Mil" coating to hide imperfections.

Would there be any issue using flakes with the 2 coats of the Standard Epoxy primer? I thought I would not want them,, but now, who knows

There are several GJ member testimonials are our 93% solids on the forum and our blog. It, simply put is the same resin as our 100% solids product with solvent added to the hardner to make it easy to spread. Legacy makes great products as well. He has a very nice WB primer and we have something similar.
