Actually my thread idea wasnt about homemade tools but about dual purpose stuff like tool box that doubles as a welding cart or like purpose built drill press cart that has storage that on wheels that solves storage issues. The DP idea is my latest idea. When I get home I take picture of one of my creations.

Here I will start you out, I needed 24+ feet of shelving 14 feet high. I wanted 12 inch deep shelves lower down to increase floor space and 24 inch deep shelves higher up to increase storage. This is the first section, I now have all of it up and just need to finish up the back supports this weekend.

Here is a multi-purpose mobile drill press stand, with storage........a bead roller has been added since that first picture was taken.

Sorry Taumac there seems to be more RE-thread Police than builders on the forum! :dunno:

Good idea though.

I would agree sometimes but idea was mix of couple of threads even though I didn't know repurpose threads existed.... I found them interesting.

Well I have hung off them so I know that they will hold 200+ pounds from each bracket.

The lower shelves are for storing things that are used often and the uppers are for things that are not needed as often the highest re for very long term storage of things that I want to keep, Model train parts and things for future projects that are planned but not in progress.

Had this (HF?) 16 x 30 cart over 10 years and wasn't getting used much so modified it with some leftover Melamine and 2 pair of kv 12" slides. Using it much more now.

this project start life as a welding table that had 2 vises and a swing up welding area could roll out when needed and roll back over bench when not in use.

i use it for a while but heavy and took up to much space and I decided i really missed my service cart so cut it down to fit extra box.

at this point i really wanted flip table back so i tacked it back on so now its a multi purpose welding service cart portable heavy duty work bench. I do have a 3/8 metal plate top from when it was 20 x 42 but havnt decided yet or come to final design yet so when i do ill cut it down and paint it.

i forgot to add that front will had 2 receiver hitch style slots on each side inside the frame so i can use vises or grinders when needed.
