Thanks guys!
Yeah, Scott...that drywall lift was a Godsend! I was able to do the whole ceiling on my own. The biggest hassle was moving everything around in the shop so I could roll the lift into place.

Ive been fighting that battle since I started finishing the inside of my shop.. Move stuff from spot A to Spot B to work in Spot A, then have to move it again to work in Spot B, so on and so on... Gets old...Quick.

While waiting for the blower to do my ceiling insulation I decided it would be a good time to do the walls. Between yesterday and today I got 3/4 of the garage done! It's already making a difference.

All that's left to do of the walls.

What a mess!! I'll be glad when I'm done.

Even without insulation my little 5kw electric heater would keep the shop at 50*F, even with outside temps nearing 0*. I can't wait to enjoy working out there in the warmth!!

Getting close not much left to do on the walls. How is that insulation to work with, is it fiberglass?

The walls are done with fibreglass bats. They're super easy to work with, much simpler than I expected. The hardest part of the job was moving everything away from the walls.
I got some more done today. All that's left is about 8 feet on one wall. Should have that done tomorrow or Friday if all goes well. Work keeps getting in the way. :spit:

Great progress Al! Looks toasty!
Thanks!! It's funny...the more insulation I put up the lower I have to set the heater. I prefer working in temps around 55*F and it keeps getting too warm in there! :lol_hitti

Man you guys in Manitoba know how to roll. Nice shop..
Thanks!! When you deal with winter temps like we do you have to try everything possible to stay warm inside.

very nicely done.
that turned out great. i'm putting a drop ceiling in my garage.... the price was right for it.
Thanks!! I hope you post pics of your ceiling when it's being done. I'd like to see that.

I got the last of the wall space insulated yesterday. I'm still waiting to get the blower so I can do the ceiling.

I took some of the advice I've read in the forum and moved some of my benches around. I plan to have the end wall free of anything on the floor to give me some extra length for vehicles. The stuff in the first pic will be moved out of the way shortly.

I also don't plan to cover the walls for awhile so I'm temporarily mounting my cabinets and cupboards to see if I like the layout. Pics of that to follow once they're all up.

I spent the day putting up all my mis-matched cupboards and shelves and did some general cleaning up. I'm still waiting on the ceiling insulation but it looks like I'll be getting the blower early in the week. Once that's done I'm going to pull the Essex out of storage and bring it home so I can start rebuilding it. Woohoo!! :D

Where a hiding the old dish washer:headscrat
Ya done a great job on the build!

Thanks!. The dishwasher is buried in the back of my old garage right now. I doubt that I'll use it in the new one as I'm almost out of floor space to put it, plus my wife thinks she'd like it in the old garage to store her gardening stuff in.

It looks great. I hate working with fiberglass! I guess its a nessary evil.

Thanks! The 'glass really wasn't too bad to work with. I wore gloves and long-sleeved shirts all the time I worked with it and didn't have any itching problems.

That looks like a great insulation job.
Must be nice and toasty in there now.

I need to get mine done.
So, its not a worry to nail through the vapor barrier?

Fiberglass is fine if you take the coldest shower you can stand afterward, and soap and scrub it out. It's not so bad even with bare arms and legs.

If you take a hot shower after, you're pretty much done though. PAIN.
