Well hired someone to pull out the 24x40 old crumbling pad in the middle if the yard and do some leveling...pad was a little bigger than we thought

Here he is on the pad we hired him for working away from it...we originally thought it was just an old compacted approach

We were wrong.

After just over an hour he hits the main pad

GREAT build......awesome!! I have two questions for you:

1) In post 212....there are 2 pics of a hoist on wheels on your mezzanine.....that is EXACTLY what i would need for my mezzanine....what brand is yours and how is it working out for you??

2) In floor heat.....my floor is getting laid (so to speak) this afternoon in my 40 x 60 pole barn......i will be using similar (not identical) equipment to pump the water thru the floor. The barn is located in cold & snowy southern Michigan...was curious how you felt your system performed and would you do anything different. I will have blown insulation in the ceiling and spray foam on all the walls

Thank you

Tom

It is the equivalent of a Harbor Freight engine hoist and 120v electric winch, just attached the winch to the boom of the engine hoist. Used it to lift a few things to the second floor including the pool table.

I have had no issues with my in floor heat...if there was one thing I might have done in hindsight is epoxy the floor. There was a sealant sprayed but that's it.

Thanks very much for the quick reply...best wishes as your build continues to evolve!!

Made some bittersweet space in the shop...car I've owned the longest went for a final ride...decided I have enough projects and this one deserved more attention.

Hello from Florida. I've got a 40x80 18' wall steel on concrete slab going up right now. Love the mezzanine and I have the same intention in a 12x40 size. Do you have any build instructions or advice? Do you know what the load limit is by chance? It appears that the thick joists are plywood/2x sandwich but are you using hangers on the short joists? Photos don't show how they're attached. Sure am glad I don't have to deal with that snow anymore. Makes my toes cold just looking at it. Appreciate any info you got to offer...and great job.

Wait....page 13 and 14 answer a lot of my questions. Guess I should've read first but I was mesmerized. The only thing I guess I have a question about is how are the singe 2x joists attached? I don't see hangers or anything.
