*looks left*..... umm, seriously? I've been a member here since May 16, 2005?
Well, I lurk a lot in a Lot of different places. At that time, I didn't have a garage, heck I didn't have a Shed or even a piece of pavement to work on. I got to lay in the fine grit of northern AZ to work on my cars.
But, I soon moved and bought my first place... with a 1-car garage. It was unfinished, uninsulated (ever hear the saying "colder than a witches ...." ~ yeah, well, that's an uninsulated garage in Wyoming), no shelves, no nothing. But I could cram 2 motorcycles, my tools and my wifes car in there. Eventually, I was able to scavenge some cabinets from the library I worked for ($5.9mil remodel).... this is the only shot I can find:
Well, my wife decided she'd had enough of Wyoming and wanted to get back to a city again (I'm from WY, she's from Atlanta, GA).... thankfully, the Rockies region infected her.
So, now I have a new place.....

Three car.... the single for my wife to continue parking her car, and the double for me... mine, mine, mine.... ALLLL mine!
But, it's cold (no insulation, no installed heat... thanks to Craigslist I have a propane heater), drab and needs help.
And the one car side:
(The door to the 2-car is directly behind me in this photo)
Who knew you could buy a home, with a 3-car garage, in Denver, for under $200k?
So, now I'm here, looking for ideas. The home purchase and lack of steady employment are going to require my initial stuff be done on a budget, but I think I'm going to start with painting the cinder block with a white primer to brighten up the place, add 2 more light fixtures (it's Very dark back towards the garage door), put some insulation over my head, rip out the existing wood-work and... well... guess I'll have to see where it stands there.
There's an annoying 17'x4' raised section (behind the motorcycles, along the wall with the windows) that I need to work around. Having the tool box up there doesn't work well for me. The wiring needs some Major help (though I have 220 in the single-car side... have never welded before in my life, but having it available is nice), and I'd love to run some water out back for washing cars, bikes and dogs.
Anyway... Hello World.
