Just acquired a few new bench top tools in the arsenal. Mainly a jointer and planer. Small shop, full size was totally out of the question. My original plan was to have one tool stand that I could pull the item off the shelf and drop it into place.
Well since I have bought said items, I realize that unless I want to become a regular with my back Doc, each item needs its own stand.

Trying to avoid building a simple square box out of 3/4 ply with the universal mobile base just due to time constraints of having to build them.

Looking at the HF stands, seems they are really flimsy. Dewalt has a nice one, but a bit pricey.

Any recommendations I'm missing?

I know you said you don't want to do this, but I build a rolling cabinet with room for both my benchtop jointer and planer. The top is about 30"x60". I gained a ton of storage under them too. They are setup next to each other with a long melamine shelf as a bed extender on the planer. It took me a while to find the time to build it, but once I did, I was kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

If you decide to go the build your own box route, take a look at this thread. I have a couple on my todo list, one for my planer and one for my router table.

Thanks for the link! Looks like a very sturdy build. All I can see is a complete weekend getting eaten up building this while I could be working on another project on the list.
I'm going to swing into HF and just put my eyes on these stands to verify what all the reviews have said. One mans flimsy is another mans sturdy stand! :lol_hitti
If I gotta build, I gotta build though.
