The "old" site is in fact still extant, believe it or not, and you can still get to it, which I just found out myself only recently. Link is
here.
This may be an unnecessary extra explanation, since it seems you're already familiar with the old site, but I was always surprised by the number of guys who have used the site who did not know this function was available, so I'll add it anyway.
- Pick any catalog in which you think it's pretty safe to say the tool is in. Can be later. In fact, best to pick one fairly later, or you'll end up too early.
- Go to the page the tool is shown on.
- Scroll down and click on the part number hyperlink in the list of model numbers below the page.
- What you will get in return is a list of EVERY Snap-on catalog that has ever had that same part number, from earliest to latest.
Just imagine if this existed for Plomb, or Bonney, or any vintage collectible mfgr. The most amazing Snap-on collectors' research tool ever, and it was not carried into the new site, which I don't understand.
