My uncle dropped off a box of old NOS parts he had laying around a few years ago and I'm just getting around to going through them. 16884104024016130049910965794570.jpg16884103871571912781189841980884.jpg168841037552571253152747766169.jpg16884103412612997171855616023680.jpg16884103254332327217099202234892.jpgThese were out of the box. Any idea what they are? The Motorcraft part appears to be for a carburetor set up.

Yup, #1 is a "rag joint" for a steering shaft of some unknown car. If it's a Ford part, then it might have been part of many, many different cars. That one seems like it may be on the smaller side, so as a wild-*** guess, maybe Pinto, Mustang II, etc...?

Been a LONG time since I've seen or adjusted a #2... dang, fuel injection sure is neat.

I see a blue blur... the camera decided the wood grain in the background was more important.

What's that thing made of, and is it three inches across or a foot?
This tool is made of DELRIN. The diameter is 1.5 inches. the length may be 2 inches. It is designed to be hit with a hammer. It is for installing one thing, Made in USA

1. Steering column coupler repair kit. We sold them aftermarket. Can't recall the part number. I think the brand was "Car-Aid" (aka "Perfect Parts" of New Jersey.)

2. Choke thermostat from an Autolite carburetor. The spring is "bi-metallic": two dissimilar metals having different rates of contraction/expansion bonded together causes the spring to move the tiny lever that fits into that hook at the outer end of the spring, which is what opens the choke blade on the air horn.

oops. just noticed how old this thread is.
I have no clue what that blue widget is on the drill press table. too out of focus?

The steering wheel repair kit part number was SWK-1 Car-Aid. ("universal steering column repair kit" - fit 90% of the cars on the road back then.)

Sometimes it takes me a few minutes to bring that stuff back up.

What worries me is it will be something useful. I’m pretty sure I got one in a box full of old tools at a yard sale, and I threw it away.. lol
That turquoise thing I posted is for setting the seals on piston rods for a
Detroit Diesel 6V92. The seals look like frost plugs. This tool is current, although, not so much now that the 2 cycle Diesels are not being made. The company had about 1000 of these engines in service. 20 years later there is only one 6V92 and everything else is Cummins.
