Hi everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my 30 gallon Speedaire compressor to an 80 gallon compressor. I have found a three phase compressor....I don't have three phase power but I do have a brand new single phase, 5 hp motor that I put on my Speedaire compressor.

The seller cannot tell me who the manufacturer is on the compressor. He said he has looked everywhere and he can't find anything on the pump or the tank. He has it hooked to three phase and I can hear it run before buying so that isn't a concern. He also said that it is pressure lubricated...big bonus if that's the case!

I just need a compressor guru to tell me what kind of pump is on the compressor?? I only have one pic, and not a great one at that....any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry about the picture, it's not mine. That is the pic off the ad on Craigslist. From looking at the (lousy pic) can you tell me if the pump is pressure lubricated? I knew that Quincy and Curtis made some pressure lubricated pumps but I wasn't sure of any other manufacturers.

Do you have three phase to connect to? Or are you going to change the motor out?

I don't have three phase power but I do have a brand new single phase, 5 hp motor that I put on my Speedaire compressor.

I'm betting he doesn't have three phase power but does have a brand new single phase 5 hp motor that he put on his Speedaire. ;)

I wish I had a better pic but that's the only one. $400 dollars for the compressorthe compressor and I already have the motor to replace the three phase that's on it.

I wish it were a Saylor Beal compressor but all of the names mentioned above are all quality compressors!

i could be wrong but it looks like an older champion

I second this. From the early 50's maybe. If you go to see it look on the castings for part numbers. The Champion I had had part numbers cast or punched on lots of the individual parts. Look for numbers that start with RE-

Wow, I didn't think it was from the 50's! If it is they took really good care of it.

I have to drive a ways to pick it up so I'm hoping it is what he says it is.
