You can buy special vibration pads from Grainger, but what seems to be popular here is mounting it on hockey pucks drilled through so you can bolt it to the floor. I used redheads when I put my compressor in at the old shop, but I've seen guys use tapcons too.

Depends on what the wifey bought you. Is it pancake compressor or larger?? If larger, is it Vertical or Horizontal??

Specifications??

Any pictures??

I used some hock pucks and bolted it down. When I move it to the new garage I may try to just place it. Can't believe they don't vibrate around

I/R 5 hp/80gal mounted on hockey pucks. Bought 'em at Big 5 Sporting Goods for $3 apiece. 3" fender washers on top. The rubber on top of the mounting legs are shock absorber bushings I had laying around. Been mounted like this since 2006. Never had an issue.

^^Same as this with hockey pucks. My pucks are bolted to the compressor, not the floor. I can still "walk" the compressor in and out of the compressor closet that I made for it. No fear of falling over, since it's contained by the closet. I would probably tether otherwise, just to be safe.

My 60 gallon vertical compressor is a Craigslist find. I had to transport 30 miles. The only suitable thing I had was a snowmobile trailer. To keep it from falling over while on the trailer, I mounted the compressor to two 4x4s. Once home the 4x4s kept it real stable so I left it that way. Has worked well.
