Most of the framed racing posters are originals. I've been collecting them for almost 30 years.

Here's mine. My wife got it for me from Garage Scenes. The pictures were taken right after I hung it. It hangs better now.

Found this thread very interesting. My friend and I took the cheap route for art on the wall. Each of us had 15 to 20 years worth of car magazines. We went through and took all the pictures from every magazine. We put them on the wall in a giant collage. Some are 3 page foldouts...some are 2 page foldouts and the rest run from 4" X 5" down to 1" x 1". It was a lot of work but a lot of fun as well. As an extra added bonus, the girls in the welding supply calendars are cut out of the original background and end up sitting on the front of cars that are the same scale. Cheap...you bet. We call it the manic wall. When someone visits our garage, they stand and stare at the wall....a lot of fun...and not very hard to do.

The signs cost me $200 each. The prices for those things varies, but I think I did OK. I'm still searching for deals. Ebay actually has some pretty good deals ocasionally, but usually they must be picked up because of their size.

There was a message here that gave a website and also a phone number for the The Sign Guy who produced street signs and such. His website is no longer up nor does his telephone number work. Is he out of business completely or still around? Where was he located? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure, I do know I seen the guy (or someone that uses the name) at a show in Jefferson, WI last fall. Had some really cool stuff and also did custom work so I'm guessing it's the same guy.

I plan on covering the parts of my garage that don't have peg board on them with the collage idea. One thing I didn't see mentioned that is my favorite garage art is hubcaps! You can buy singles for next to nothing since they aren't in a set, every junk yard in the world has a but load of 'em, and since alot people chase billet rims anymore, the prices have fallen even more. plus I think some of the old ones are as classy as the cars the were designed to go on.

Just stumbled across this forum... great ideas. I did one wall in the garage with old signs (some are real, some reproductions).

I picked up a few posters on ebay of BMW's for around $20.00 a pop. Not bad till I took them to the frame shop and had them mounted. After getting three done I came up with a better plan and made a few my self out of sales catalogs.

Shop around at WallyWorld etc. for frames. Quite a few times they will have sales on them. Or hit garage sales that have kids that used to have posters. Yopu can get frames real reasonable with glass included. A lot of times department stores will change out their stuff and get rid of pics with frames. Pick them up cheap. A frame shop will make you leave a limb or two.
