I am now finished my final high school semester and I am headed out to my work term on Monday. After this work term its on to my secondary for my red seal and with schooling comes the Snap on student program :bounce: Ive got a good collection of tools already so I am looking to use this program for a box as my majority expense and I am leaning towards a classic 60, cheap, quality box with the option to grow upwards and width wise.

Anyways, on to the thread. I am looking for pictures of other peoples classic 60s and their personal opinion on the box

No pictures handy, but I have one. Over a nice box. I bought it put my Kra 62c on top and use as "cart" around the shop. This was before I was a road tech. The plan was to keep the most common tools in the top box and if I needed to put in a truck for a service call, I could easily do that without farting around packing tools up. The bottom was just extra storage to open up room in my main box. Well, I became the main road tech a with true service truck so the plan got changed. For now, it is my home box. Nice size for what it is, can store a lot tools and rolls nice loaded. If there is one thing I would whine about, is the side where the handle is flexes a bit when moving the box. Never noticed while it was work, just the last time I moved around at home. That said, not a very big deal in my book, the box is well built in my book. I kinda want to buy a new kra 6210 to put on top since per the measurements, it should be a perfect match.

I think it's a decent box and pretty price competitive if you'll be getting 50% off.

That being said it's a smaller box than I'd want to start out with. If you get the discount on the full line I'd look at the KRSC246PBO1 Roll Cart, it's about the size of a Classic 60, actually has more usable storage space, and is a little cheaper.

Start with the cart and when you outgrow it get a larger box and keep the cart.

I had one for almost 9 years and loved it. I just recently traded it off for a 96 for more space. I got it the same way you are getting yours. I never had any problems with it at all. Great starter box.

I know they are a step down quality wise but I was also looking at a kra5311, I like having a full length drawer and the many smaller drawers would be great too

No pictures, but I have had three of them, red, blue, and flat black. The are a nice size, holds all basic hand tools and not to big to move around. That being said I want a krl756. same size, better quality. If you could swing it I would go that way or with a krl722. I would rather have a 60 or a 756 then a cart. I like to have a work space on the top not tool storage.

I bought mine for an exact purpose, closest matching bottom for a kra 62c. I kicked around a 756, but found no real reason to spend the extra money, Storage is identical. Yes the 756 has heavy caster and slides, but for the size of the box, the add weight carrying ability was not worth extra money. Pretty sure a 756 and 60 weight almost identical. One other thing to think about, a kra 4107 has basically the same storage in a different package. Same slides and casters as a classic 60. A 60 is 24" by 36", a 4107 is 40" by 19". I have owned both, but not at the same time. A 4107 will easily hold a 36" tool where as a 60, it might fit, but will stored at a annoying angle. Also a 4107 has only two shallow drawers and the bottom is 8" vs the 60's bottom 6". personally I have little use for shallow drawer. I don't get the cart thing, I have had several carts and find the flip up lid doesn't suit me at all. I would always buy a true roll cab over a cart. If I had to change one thing about the 60, I wish it had another 4" drawer for a total height of 44" or so. I'm 5'7", but still don't like the lower height boxes.
