This thread is not intended to be ******* contest on which welder is the best. I’m of the opinion that you purchase whatever welder fits your needs, intended purpose (residential vs. commercial) and you budget. With that said, Hobart (for me) ticked every single box and after 8 years of ownership, I have never regretted that choice. You can’t really go wrong with any of the American “BIG-3” Hobart- Miller- Lincoln.

So lets see your Hobart’s, and what your working on!

My set up:

- Hobart 210
- Hobart 12ci plasma cutter

Used on my 1949 Willys because bubba the bonda bandit had his way with this one. . .

Dang, here I thought it was going to be Hobart mixers 5 ft tall, and we’d see some great baked goods. (I live in a different world)

IRQVET,
How do you like that plasma cutter? I really don't have room for a compressor so this one is on my list. Do you know if the torch can be upgraded or is it more than sufficent for a homegamer not doing a lot of structural steel in my garage.

In my opinion its great for 16 gauge stuff, that mainly what I’ve use it for, removing rusted body panels so I could weld in new sheet metal. Honestly it might work for other applications, but my gut tells me it would struggle in bigger applications. Maybe someone else with the 12ci can chime in with their experience.

These guys have one that is close to 5’ tall, barely hiding behind the counter, best visible on the way down the hall. Left my phone on the table, so no pix.
