Here's mine. Standard in the Mac box is mostly Snap on and Mac. Metric box is a real hodgepodge of Stanley, Craftsman, Cornwall, Proto, SK and others. On a side note the standards contain the remnents of an ignition set Mac offered in the 80s and 90s. The set included a screwdriver, channelocks, screw starter, and a feeler guage. I would like to know the original contents of the set if anyone has a Mac catalog from back then.

This Gearwrench set is one of the best purchases I've made. Quick, easy access in my box and quick, easy to grab n go. Everything to left is Craftsman, Snap On, SK, BluePoint, Mac, Crescent Roto, Toptul, and Easco mix of ratchets/extensions, sockets, breaker bars, drive handles, etc.

Here are some of my sets. My Craftsman SAE set is in the black plastic case. I have a set of Allen inside a larger set with a gray case. Then my Armstrong SAE & metric set is shown with a catalog photo with a blue case.

My main 1/4" I use at home. Stored right on the end of the bench. The little SO set is my grab and go kit.

Here's my chrome sets, although I mostly use 1/4" impact at work, but don't have a picture of that set handy.

Work set: MAC box, Williams sockets and extensions (besides the infamous Snap-on socket included with my Metric Williams set) and Snap-on ratchet.

Home Set: SK set with a Kobalt USA 1/4"F x 3/8"M adapter.

This is my go to metric set that a friend gave to me. I rarely touch the 1/4" set in my toolbox. I added a piece of crafting foam later on which prevents the sockets from moving around.

S-K set from late 70's. Craftsman Metric set around mid 90's. I have the identical SAE set from Sears, it's in a black case peeking nearby. IMO if a 1/4" set doesn't have a spinner handle it fails.

SK Wayne, has incorrect spinner and missing long extension, but ratchet is new, never used. Although the sockets have been used?

Action-Thorsen value line, has the open gear ratchet

3rd box has what I think are New Britain stickers on it, 6 sockets in it are None Better.

4th is a Plvmb set ca. 1940

Here is my go to set in the garage. I have deep wells both metric and standard in another box. I also a set of very long Tekton extensions. Most of the sockets and the F.T.R.H. ratchet are 1979 Craftsman from my first set.
I have another set of mostly Pittsburgh in my mobile tools kept in the car and more at work. I am a heavy user of 1/4" sockets.

Here's my sets......the S-K set stays in the house mostly, I also have several more loose 1/4" dr. stuff that I need to find some more boxes or cases to make up sets with....

The S-K set is 96% S-K and the red Mac case is a combination of Mac, Snap-on, Craftsman, and Matco.......

The small red Snap-on box is all Snap-on!

A collection of some cheapo Taiwanese sockets from when I first started putting a toolbox together, with some Britool/Snap On/Craftsman USA/Plvmb/Proto/Beta bits that I've collected along the way. There's a little ratchet in the upper left corner that I bought off a MAC truck in 2005, seemed gimmicky at the time but it's my favourite 1/4" ratchet being 72T and really smooth. It's not often you need much torque using 1/4" drive tools. One of the 1/4" extensions is Beta - really nice quality, some of their stuff is great.

lower back drag is more important, infact making a heavy duty 1/4" RHFT dual pawl ratchet obsolete. The weakest link is the 0.25" square drive end if not the fastener. Don get me wrong I love my Craftsman RHFT but I don't use them that much these days.
I'm pretty much sold on the newer 72t roto-head ratchets for 1/4 drive.

Here is the 1/4" metric service set I keep in my "road box".

Mostly 1988/1989 Snap On 1/4" metric set (33 total pieces). Came in a KRA-275A.

Sockets:

• Shallow/deep flank drive chrome 6 point 4-15mm (no 5.5mm) (new logo)

Drive tools:

• 8" OAL Hard handle flex head ratchet (#THLFD72)(new logo)
• 5 3/4" OAL Hard handle driver (#TM4CSA)(new logo)
• 6" OAL Breaker bar (#TM 10F)(old logo)
• 1/4"F>3/8"M Adapter (#TA-3)(old logo)
• Universal (#TMU8)(old logo)
• 2" Wobble plus extension (#TMXWP32)(new logo)
• 4" Standard extension (#TMX4)(old logo)
• 6" Standard knurled extension (#TMXK60)(new logo)

Every socket and the universal are 1988/89, from the original set and in good shape.
The other drive tools are a mix and match of types, logos, dates, and undated.

I also recently picked up the gear wrench 1/4 drive set. So far im really enjoying it. Unfortunately im not very impressed with the included ratchet, but it is still worlds better than than my other craftsman junk. i still find myself using my old Plomb 1/4 drive ratchet, its not overly accurate, but it is buttery smooth, and has zero back drag. Im sure some people will cringe that I still use it, but its just another well made tool as far as Im concerned

I also picked up this tiny titan brand ratchet at orilies the other day when I was getting some oil. I dont really need it, but like lots of the tools I have im sure I will find a use for it.

This is my mobile set. It rides in the car trunk. It is mostly Pittsburg and Tekton. The ratchet is a "Do It" brand from a yard sale. It is tawain made and is very smooth after a cleanup and lube.

Here are my go-to sockets that are always in my bag:
Snap On
Shallow 1/4 to 9/16"
Deep 1/4 to 7/16"
Universal 1/4,5/16,3/8"
Extensions 2",4",8"
Ratchets TF72 (sometimes T72 instead, but I've been loving the flex-head lately)
MAC mini flex ratchet MR4FC
It may seem minimal, but it's all that's needed for 95% of Bell helicopter maintenance

You do need it, you just haven't had to use it yet...

Mine was about the only thing that fit in behind the dash on the Focus to replace the blower motor resistor. Then, I used it when changing the blower motor on the S10.
