Here is an old Hisey Direct Current grinder that I got out of a dumpster in NYC around 1985. I ran it with a 1/4 hp motor and a v belt - had to take the brushes out because I was getting some high voltage "static" that made me jump.
It belongs in a museum - I have the pedestal for it, too.
