Probably double for that hd tray

If it is really a 1 HP model...
Grab it now!
I’m 99 % sure it’s fixable. I would start by looking at that badly redone cord. Might just be a loose wire!
Parts are worth way more than $20.

A water tray by itself sold on eBay for $20 plus shipping within the last 2 weeks.

Or just resell it on GJ.

Nice job doing the legwork.
I thought cajon would be all over it.

Somebody PM or email me ASAP.

I can only hold it so long before he'll sell it.

These are rare as hens teeth in this NIB condition.

I actually thought I'd never see another after I got mine.

There's a local 1/2 HP block for sale @ $75. Looks clean w/ no surface rust; includes original/vintage single-post stand, all covers & guards, tool rests, and full-width quench tray but it's a 50mi drive (each way). Worth it?

So I was headed home from work a few minutes ago and decided to take the long way home. Sunday evening, people usually put out some interesting junk. And today they didn't dissapoint me. Will have to plug it in when I get home and see what she does! It does spin freely.

Found this 1/2 hp at an auction yesterday. Managed to snag it for $15.
Brought it home and it runs/sounds great. I think I’ll clean it up and repaint. May also have to spring for a repro label sticker.
It has the quench tray and tool rests. It did have one of the plastic eye shields as well. It does not have a lamp, and I don’t see where one would have been attached. Is this possible?

Thanks y'all! This one felt good.

Yes sir, people will throw away all kinds of things...that's why I usually vary my route to / from work on the days before trash pickup or bulk trash pickup. The first picture was as it sat from my truck. Hard to tell but it's on the side of the road; you can see some of the blacktop in the second picture.

Spotted this 1/2 HP on Chicago's Craigslist and made contact with the seller. Their asking price was $45 which I was a-ok with. Picked it up this afternoon. It's clean, just needs a new power cord. I'm almost certain that the tool rests are not original. I also purchased this Roper Whitney #5 hand punch for $25

Wow that is CLEAN. Very nice and I bet those are original although it is difficult to be certain.

Thanks! Based on your SN, are you also a MustangSteve forum member? If not please excuse the question...been a while and your SN rings a bell.

Bulk trash pickup is about six hours from now...figure I should put this heap back out there as the light is a bit finicky and blows bulbs :lol_hitti

I like the two other Craftsman stands behind it . I can never seem to find one.

Thanks, bud. Difficult to see in the other pic but there's actually four in that row, three more behind it. I've been fortunate enough to locate/acquire five of the original stands over the years. The very last one in this picture, I scooped up off of the local Craigslist for I think $25 on the original stand. I was excited to say the least about that deal. Being retired offers the ability to act quickly when finding these vintage tools. Timing is everything....

I picked this up at an auction over the weekend. My wife gave me "the look" when I bid $50 for it, but she forgave me later. I really wanted an older round top over the more squared version. I've seen several newer ones, but most had led a hard life. This one spent its life sharpening tools in a woodworker's shop. I used Novus plastic polish on the eye shields(I have both) and lamp shade then wiped the sawdust off of it. She runs like a champ and so much quieter than my 40 year old Tawainese one.
