I'm betting it's the elusive rectangle switch that we can not find a direct replacement for. The round switches are easy to find at any hardware store.

I'd like to have a 3/4 or 1 hp commercial grade round top with 8" wheels. Prefer something that's ready to use. Budget? Good question. Is $200 enough?

I'm looking for some parts for a couple of blocks that I have.

I need a left side cover guard and a tool rest table for my 1 HP model 257.191600, the part numbers are 4376-0-16 and 22005398 respectively.

Also looking for a left side inner wheel guard for model 397.19590, the stock part number is 5538402 but part number 5538401 will also work.

Good job! Cutler-Hammer power tool switches were (are?) largely made down south in Alabama or Arkansas, if I remember right. They are currently owned by Eaton Corporation. Just a bit a USA manufacturing history. I haven't been in that industry for 20 years. It was a fun when it was local. I think that B&D/Dewalt has largely moved off shore. Does anyone have updates for Ryobi, Skil/Bosch, and Milwaukee? They all used to have a large US manufacturing presence and had switches supplied by Cutler-Hammer, Lucerne, Tower, McGill, Marquardt, and a few others.

By the way are you up to starting a new thread maybe Showing your Craftsman block grinder finished projects??? or something like that because we all have a need to use our blocks at some point after we all have them finely tuned.

show those finished projects that your block has done here if you have any until we get a thread started. grind, wire wheel and buff away guys.

TM: yes you are and I (we) all appreciate all the help you give us when we need some no matter how small it might seem. you are a great leader and I for one am better off to know you and have you helping me and the guys that need some. :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

i'm going to post some links to deburring wheels for sale that i found through the help of another block member or he can if he gets time. i think that I might install one or two of the wheels on my buffer. i want to shine metal like the new vise on my Avitar that i borrowed from another person. hopefully one of mine will replace it someday soon.

happy 4th to all and hope you all are enjoying our summer too.

I already have one of these, that came attached to the mounting board for a belt driven single stone grinder.

But this one is NIB. Estate sale in Ludington, MI. $10

Volley, I had a 1/4hp for years before picking up a 1/2hp split-phase a few months back. The difference was very notable and made me say "Wow!" Then, I got a 1/2hp commercial and it is a notch above the split-phase. How do the 1/2hp and 3/4hp commercials compare? In other words, is there a big of a difference between the 1/2 and 3/4 as there is between the 1/4 and 1/2?

Thanks. I could not figure how it attached to the grinder. What are these things worth?
I am anxious to sharpen a few dozen bits I never threw out.

I paid $5 for a loose used one, got one basically free along with a flat blade sharpening guide #335.19495 and belt and motor driven grinding stone for $15, and the latest, NIB with instructions for $10
