Lets See your Custom/Homebuilt Top Hutch

Wanting to make my own hutch top for my 44" US General Box and looking for Ideas. Last Shop I worked at a fella had a huge wooden top made for his Mac Macsimizer. Looking for Ideas

I made one for my box at work. I made a metal frame from 1” angle and skinned it with plywood. Painted the whole thing black and the lock tongue goes through the top of base box. I open the base box and put a lock on it. I’ll take a picture and show you what I built.

This one popped up a while back, for free. Kind of liked that design, but I am running out of room for any more benches.

The bottom cabinet is what work gives us to put our tools and supplies in. It really isn’t the best box for mechanical type work. There isn’t enough storage for longer tools or batteries and chargers. I have 6 chargers (old style dewalt, new style dewalt, makita 18v, radio, PDA, and headlamp) and have no place in the bottom. It’s unfortunate, but if it’s not locked up things grow legs. The hutch was built to be able to secure my things and be better organized. I plan to build a better designed one for my KR660 when I do something with that project.
