I built this one for my 4 year old nephew for Christmas. The tool cabinet with tools is a vintage set I found on ebay. I also restored a Stanley No. 700 clamp on vise for him to use on the bench. The vise used to belomg to his late Great Grandfather.

I got the same tool set for Christmas when I was about 5 years old (20 years ago).

Great benches for the kids, guys. Mine just turned 2, and he just got his first set of play tools for his birthday. Here he is helping dad and grandpa on the latest "projek".

Mine is about to turn 21 months, and I've got a small two-drawer tool chest that I'm going to integrate into a bench I'll be building for him soon. He's already getting into my tool box when I'm working on stuff and hands me tools. He also takes similar tools to what I'm using (he'll grab a ratchet if I'm using one) so he can mimic me. His mom, grandmother, etc all think I'm nuts and should wait until he's older to give him a toy plastic bench, but I just wonder why these women aren't making me a sammich. :dunno:  :headscrat

:lol_hitti

I'll post pics when I get it built.

I tried that but they found it so much easier to use my stuff.

I haven't gotten around to making the little guy his own workbench yet but yesterday he wanted to follow me around and do everything I was doing. I guess it's time to start thinking about it.

I couldn't just drop it. I had to run out and get him something to work on. This will have to do until we can build him a better one.
