I am in the market for a LED Handheld Work Light. Saw a few at the local big box stores but not alot of output (500L) .

I'm a Makita fan, and use their 18v line, so I chose the Makita DML801. That way I can use one of the many batteries I already have. I've used it for over two years. First while wrenching on 737's, however now that my job doesn't require my own tools it's at home. No issues other than the rubber boot over the power button tore off.
Two brightness settings, full swivel light, a hook for hanging. Good all around light.

I use a Milwaukee 18v cordless flashlight. Very very handy, wish I had found it sooner. It will run for ~6 hours straight and then be ready in 20 minutes again. Really like the base and the steerable headlight, it was so handy in changing a FWD transmission in the garage. I was already invested into Milwaukee's battery platform, so that may drive your decision making.

I like the Milwaukee LED pen light for an everyday carry for small tasks, surprisingly bright for 100 lumens. If I need handheld and that won’t cut it, I grab the M18 search light.

I agree. I've had mine for many years and it is still my go-to light.

I use a COAST brand headlight. Super bright but burns through battetys.
