Well this is similar to the other toolbox threads, except this is specific for machinists and toolmakers.

I'm a new toolmaking apprentice and would like to see how you guys organize your boxes.

Cheers,
Jim

Bringing back this thread cause I am also interested, especially now that I'm finally getting my **** organized.

Just looking for a way to sort loose taps, dies, reamers, and bits.

Looking forward to the displays!
My Gpa use to work for Hughs and made custom tools or whatever they wanted. He passed away so I am slowly getting his tools. There are a lot of bits for a lathe.

Lessee, I've got individual Kennedy boxes for:

1. taps and dies
2. smaller than 1/2" drills
3. hole saws and punches
4. reamers and countersinks
5. mills
6. clamps and other mill tooling
7. micrometers, levels, calipers, dial indicators, telescoping gauges
8. #2 MT and larger 1/2" shank drills

Buy everyone I find for $25-35 and it makes everything small, flat or round easy to find.

DynoDale. Where did you find the tap handle in the lower right hand side of the tap and die drawer? Its in the red box with the interchangable bits for the taps. I have never seen that before. TIA
Like you Packard V8 I buy all the boxes I can for under $50. I love them for the organization of Drills, Bits, Taps, Inserts, and Inspection tools.

I got it from Mac Tools. It was made by Ratch-cut.

The top box comes up regularly around here, for sale. They were also made in blue.

Well, thanks for that Jack. I have asked this question in several ways elsewhere and never received an answer. Now, without pictures, Jack gives me the solution. First off, I can logically sort and store all the little machinist's stuff I have And I get to search and acquire more Kennedys!

Problem solved without pictures.

Dave.

Dale, nice K setup!
I have many small t-boxs in order to seperate tools sence my main box is too small and can't drag it along to every job. So 2 of my boxs are Kennedy's, they are the best of mine.

LAROKE, that is beautiful!
I work at a manufacturing company where many of the guys have Kennedy boxes. Not sure what I would use it for (already have a Craftsman chest and roller) but I really want one...keeping my eyes peeled!
