We just bought a new home and I had an epoxy floor done in the garage. The plan all along has been to move the messy work outdoors and I've set myself up with a heavy steel workbench outside behind my gates.
I've got an old benchtop Craftsman drill press and combo belt/disc sander that l'd like to set up on a mobile worksurface/cart that can be rolled outside as well and I'm looking for ideas on how to do this.
When I bought the drill press and sander, each came mounted on a sheet metal tool stand which I've never really been that fond of. Sure casters could be added but they are kinda bulky and seem to waste alot of space. For the new multiuse work table I'd like to keep the footprint small (approx 3' x 2') but it will have to be sturdy and have a low center of gravity so it doesn't tip.
Husky has a nice looking option but @ $349 it's pretty pricey for what it is.
Has anyone made a mobile work table or cart for a drill press or adapted another cart of some sort? I'd love to see whatchya got!
