re 5.11 pants, As a cop I wore my fair share of them both on and off duty. They are not bomb proof but they are solid, comfortable pants. They used to be a great value at about $30 but when ey started being sold at sporting good stores they have went up quite a bit. I saw a pair for 60 at Gander the other day. I really want to try Duluth Trading's firehouse pants as an alternitive but haven't yet.

Off work I carry a S&W j frame, a speed strip, a small swiss army knife, thin wallet, and my phone. I once had a streamlight micro stream that I will replace on day. I carried all sorts of tactical knives and carry them at work, but when one of my daughters needs a tag cut off her shirt or has a splinter, the swiss army knife is just the ticket.

When I was a cop, cargo pants did my concealing. Now as a mechanic, I only carry a pocket knife cause laying down on cement under equipment is already uncomfortable, much less having a pocket full of junk to make it worse.

Wallet, a real thin pocket knife, and car keys. On some occasions I may have a pen in my shirt pocket. I'm the type though that I really hate anything in my pockets, but the wallet is a necessity.

Gerber knife, love these knives, I buy them two at a time so if I forget one somewhere I always have an extra.
SOG multitool, I carry it in my old schrade tool pouch as it is much more comfortable.

Unpictured is my Eagletac D25A clicky titanium flashlight and my Droid RAZR Maxx phone. Soon to be added is a Springfield XDs in a crossbreed holster.

What's the model of this knife? Looks nice and slim!

Answered my own question. Gerber E.A.B. lite, and now I have one in my pocket!
I've always loved replaceable blade utility knives, but they always seem so bulky for what they are. This one is slim and small, which is perfect!

So, my pockets include an iPhone 4S, gerber E.A.B. lite, dodge "seat belt" belt, letterman wingma, wallet with FAR too much **** in it, and ignition key for the truck. Smokes and lighter stay in the truck, but are carried if needed.

**** I carry next to nothing in my pockets if I can help it! I don't know how you guys can stand carrying so much **** around with you. If I am working I carry phone, keys & wallet. If I am not working I carry the phone cause I'm on call 24/7 but that's about it other than a 20 sheet. I don't even carry my wallet if I ain't working....

I'll have to look into the 5.11 pants...

My daily carry is slightly different for work or "Play" (Non work)

I only carry my wallet or phone if I'm out of the house, The small tape and Magnifier are always with me, as are the LED Flashlight, nail clippers, vintage 4" adjustable and the small disk magnet that keeps them together. (I use the magnet while yard-sailing or at Flea markets to test if something is magnetic or not. I got tired of surprises...).

At work I have a couple of pens in my shirt pocket. and I carry the left knife while at work the other two the rest of the time. why two knifes? the inlaid Kershaw is for food items, and the other is for all the cutting, scraping, and digging I often do. I don't want to use that one for something I want to eat...

Thanks for making me feel better about the 4" adjustable on my keyring... people always ask about it... and I always reply... it opens to 9/16... enough for just about everything you could need in a minor emergency... ie battery terminals, etc.

Funny, this just happened last Saturday night. son's car would not start, so I was fiddling with the battery terminals...

Is that a 4" crescent in your pocket or you just happy to see me????

Seriously though, how do you guys carry all this stuff? I would end up breaking my phone, stabbing myself in the leg with something, or worse... losing my beloved small flashlight or wrench or multi-tool. :willy_nil

No one carries a handkerchief anymore?

I always carry a square of microfiber cloth, maybe 4"x4", for cleaning my glasses. I suppose in a pinch it could serve hankie duty. When in the field, I carry a full size white tea cloth tied to my bag for sweat wiping, but I otherwise only carry a clean handkerchief to funerals and weddings for sobbing womenfolk.

My EDC carry: a galaxy s4 cell (not shown), Spyderco Byrd Crow knife, Quark Mini123 flashlight, wallet, keys and carabiner, microfiber cloth, Burt's Bees chapstick, and a pen (usually a pilot precise or fine tip sharpie).

I'm a knifemaker so I always have the top one (the first folder I made) in my pocket:

Wallet, keys, and Cell phone. I also make pocket tools so I typically have something else on the keyring.

I forgot to add that to my list. I started carring one about a year ago and its amazing how many times I use it throughout the day. All the older guys I looked up to as a kid carried one, so after I saw an article on why men should have one, I said why not. Not for the nose, mostly use it to wipe my forehead/back of neck. I just used it to change the bulb in my maglight the other day.

I don't see how you guys can carry all of that. I tried carrying a larger knife at one time and couldn't do that, so I have a very thin knife. If I carry my car keys they are usually in my back pocket. My cell phone usually gets laid down wherever I am at, or I'll leave it in the truck if I'm in the store. When it comes to change, I have it everywhere but my pockets. If I'm coming from a store, change gets thrown into the center console. If I happen to have change and I stop in the garage, I have a small magnetic tray I lay it in. Any change in the house gets thrown into a 5 gallon water jug.

Otis....Do you ever get lighter burn from your Zippo? And do you carry extra flints under the felt in the bottom?

I'm just curious. It's been years since I have saw anyone carry a Zippo. Almost everyone I know carries a Bic. I have my dad's Zippo, but I need to send it in to get refurbished as I can pull the guts out of the case. I got it out once but it was a chore. If I get it refurbished, I may carry it, and I don't even smoke, but often find myself needing a lighter.

Keys (Lots of them)
Wallet
Old Benchmade Knife
Ball Point Pen
Streamlight Stylus Pro
Phone
Leatherman Supertool 300
Shop Rag

Added a Lighter & Smokes to that list in the last year. Quit for 10 years, picked up the habit again thanks to good old fashioned American stress.

I was always a nothing in my pocket guy. Oddly I added one element at a time and now I'm completely immune to it.

at work, flashlight, phone, and knife in holsters on my belt. pen, pocket screwdriver, and sharpie in left chest pocket. wallet in right back pocket. keys in right front pocket. this leaves my left front pocket, left back pocket and right chest pocket empty for whatever.

casually, phone on belt in holster, knife in left front pocket, flashlight in cargo or auxillary right pocket, keys in right front pocket, wallet in right back pocket. business card wallet in left front pocket, watch on left wrist. i usually wear a pocket t-shirt, but the chest pocket is empty, as is my left back pocket.

i swap in my leatherman in its holster on my belt from time to time. i carry 2 mini maglites with it, as well as the leatherman bit kit.
