I have been a mechanic for 34 years and over the years you need to have 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, shallow, standard, mid depth, and deep, metric, standard, British standard (I had a girlfriend with an MG), 6 point, 12 piont , suare drive, tap sockets, torx, torx+, inverted torx,,allen spline drive, extra deep sockets, oil sending sockets, impact sockets, flex sockets or universal, standard, metric and torx, and shock socket.

I think there is somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 sockets or so in there lol.

it's in good shape for being 15 years old, and spending over 10 years in several different service trucks


it's been "revised and reconfigured" once again.

i cut out the heavily damaged bottom drawer, and frame, built an angle iron & tube frame for it. removed the lid and it's now mounted on a lyons 3 drawer mid box.

this set up gave me some much needed space for my 3/4" dr sockets, crowsfeet, and some flexiblity to spread out the load of larger, heavier & bulky tools

should last a few more years....

i think i got my moneys worth out of it.


service truck use is hard on any toolbox, overloaded drawers, and constant shifting loads will destroy a box very quickly

i've been in and out of service trucks for about 1/2 the time i've been wrenching.

i'm in my 4th truck in 10 years at this dealership.

Those are called Tool Tags. I got them from the Eastwood company probably 20 years ago. I saw them on a show called Shadetree Mechanic. You can see the 10mm is starting to wear off. I've tried getting some more but can no longer find them.

Ok boys, ya gone and made me do it. I broke out all the arsenal today with the exception of what I keep in my truck. I know it's still not gonna win any awards, but I just had too

First the Williams 3/4 set, 7/8-2 3/8 and some misc SK metric stuff I got on sale. I wish I could fit these into the SAE drawer, but it just doesn't work at this time.

The pre-rec pass through set, in twenty years I can only remember using it a couple of times, but damn it, I got one. lol

Most of the misc mobile sets. Funny part is that little 1/4" Stanley unit is a really nice set.

My all time personal fav, even though I forget I own it when it would have come in handy. I present to you, The Williams Palmster. Every man should..................well ok I guess we do anyhow, but this one is mechanical, so the wife puts up with it.

And sorry for the duplicate pic's. But the last ones had several sockets out and about and the pics looked extra crappy. So if you guys don't mind, I'd like to take another shot at it. Thanks!
