I got the Craftsman's that were on sale a while back. 2 bags (medium and large) for $10.

Though, my vision of a tool bag is just that....a bag to throw tools in, zip it up, and throw it behind the seat of my truck for when I need it.

Hey Rickster, I never thought of using a bowling ball bag as a tool bag! Those multiple ball bags are designed to carry a lot of weight and I like the idea of having wheels.

Here's mine.......without those damn Instinct screwdrivers that I tried and hated. All the smaller stuff is in the side pockets.

For the longest time I would raid my toolbox and stuff my work bag with what I needed. I have since bought a top box and put it in the back of my truck. I bought a seperate set of tools for this box. Now I just back the truck up to my stores and work from that. I still occasionally grab the bag but not like I used to. The bag is surprisingly good quality for a husky product.

Veto Pro Pack. Been working out of it for a few months, the last one was a Fastenal brand. River Rock or something.

This goes with me on every call.

How do you guys keep the tools standing upright in the bag? I tried a couple of pieces of PVC 4" square tube but was not happy with that. The bag I have has pockets along the inner side but the middle is open

Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I used PVC conduit taped together in my previous bag to hold screwdrivers. It actually worked really well (but the bag wore out!)

The stuff standing up in mine is in pockets. The bag has pockets sewn on each side of the center divider, and one side has a second row of them attached to the first one.

Question.....
Back in the day, I did residential/commercial HVAC and Refrigeration. I could NEVER keep the freakin tools in the belt. Get to the top of a 30 foot ladder, and swing a leg onto the roof, half of the damn tools would fall out. Or, lay the bag down to work and they spill out. Put them in the van to go to the next call, the bag falls over they spill out. WTH?
I finally got a zippered bag like the bowling ball bag, and no problem.
How do You keep the damn tools in an open belt bag????????

Veto LC. best tool bag Ive ever owned. I was going through bags every 6 months or so, this one has lasted 2-3 years and is still going strong. the only thing i would change is to get the new tech bag that they released just after I got mine. HVAC/R tech

Hi. It's my tool bag.
Previously, I used a bag Veto Pro Pack LC, approximately 1.5 years. Due to problems with the spine had to change the bag on a backpack, it was the right decision. Backpack much better to use, it is easier in itself, it is smaller in size (just such as I have in the bag had a little bit of empty space) and it is easier to carry. At the work, I a lot of time walkin with the tool, so it's a big plus in favor of a backpack.

I too have been looking for a new tool bag for a while so this thread has my attention! We all have our own preferences and price points.

One of my preference is that all (or at least most) of the tools be stored within the bag as opposed to an open design or having tools hanging off the sides. Too easy to lose tools that way IMO.

I also like bags with lots of dividers and separate pockets so that the tools can be organized so you don't have to pull everything out to get to what you need. I realize though that can be a double edge sword. If the pockets aren't designed well then nothing fits right. Lastly I don't want to break the bank but I believe in buying quality.

Right now I'm strongly leaning towards the Klein Tradesman Pro Organizer Ultimate Electrician's Bag...

I use the military ones. Mainly because I run across so many that have been tossed into the dumpster. They wash up nicely. Any color you want so long as it is OD green. They have a nice large HD brass zipper
