Hell i gave up on the cart and now just roll the whole KRL722 over to the car. Bigger work area, and i have almost everything i need. My stationary box is an older 70's Craftsman 26" unit. I know this wouldn't work in most shops, but works well for me.

That is a Kennedy Versa-cart, I have the identical one, it was originally red but spray bombed it with the Kennedy krinkle brown to match the Kennedy 295 I put on it. Been using that combo along with a Kennedy 2005 bolted to the front of it for over 24 years. You can move the 10" wheels/axle to the end of the unit and you can put the two swivel casters near the handle end, this will give you more stability. Your present wheel combination is for maximum mobility. I covered three pieces in my cart with 1/2" thick gray PVC sheet that I had, then bolted a Wilton 5" vise to it. It's a great cart, I even catch the maintenance techs rolling it out to machines to use as a bench sometimes(I authorized them to use it when they need to).

There is a separate wheeled trolley the moves from side to side, the one with the hammers and dollies, on top of the other tools.

The Beta (C25 Tank Trolly) is really build like a Tank

I saw this thread yesterday so I thought I take a few shots of my tool cart. Isn't laid out as pretty as most of you guys but it's my go to cart.

I've made a few modifications to my cart since originally posted. I added a fold down side shelf. Moved the 1/4 & 3/8 sockets into ernst holders and put them in the top tray. I drilled a line of holes along the left side of the top to house screwdrivers and prybars. Also added a set of these wide locking industrial mop bucket casters for stability.

since this thing is still going, I will post a couple of mine. One is made from an old Rockwell tablesaw stand and is used for mostly carpentry-related things (except when it is being used to move the welder around). The other is the usual HF black model with a few mods.

I am posting this old Kennedy Versacart that I had to spray paint because a large can of brake fluid had leaked all over it one winter in one of my old garages and the paint slid right off. As you can see the Kennedy brown spray paint doesn't exactly match, besides the hack paint job. The Kennedy 266 chest was red and was my fathers, since this photo was taken a few years back it's all been repainted again, but today on the way home I picked up 6 cans of Rustoleum primer and 8 cans of Rustoleum flourescent green spray paint, so I guess you know what is in store for this cart. Mister TonyDanzah asked me to post this, I'll have to get updated photos showing more of it.

I bought the Kennedy 295 cabinet off of another maintenance tech back in 1986 for $200 and the Versacart was originally a dedicated tool set up cart for the punch press department and had a wrench and bolt/clamp rack on it. When they changed over to hydraulic die clamps they threw this thing in the field behind the facility, so I took it. It's been used hard and put away wet more than a few times, but I can report it still rolls like a Cadillac and works great.

I have a new Kennedy Maintenance Pro setup coming in, so the 5 drawer intermediate and the 266 are going home, leaving the flat surfaced cart with vise. The casters from the small 5 drawer 2005 cabinet have been removed. I normally wouldn't post something like this but did say I was going to post it. I have another 12 roller cabinets and chests to take pics of and post.

Got any pics of how far the top slides back and what the box looks like when opened? Im debating between a new box like yours or a snap on 3 drawer roll cart for 400 bucks. Big difference in price.

Yes still perfectly stable, you actually work with it with the last section folded over, it has a work surface, currently on the bottom because its folded open for the storage space.

This is what I use at home. It has become my welding cart. I just longer hose off the regulator to the welder. A work in progress as always as I only have a one car shop at home...

Looks like a tool cart is going on my list, especially if I get the dealership job I'm after. I'll probably modify a cheapo to suit my needs for now, but later a Snap On to match my Classic 78 will be in order. Keep em coming guys, enjoy checking out the pics.

that nice! i has one myself too as orange MSC12... i love it! even i use it a lot as ford heavy line tech.. it work great for me.. but shame on matco to make a MSC11 that look like poor engineering....

Like Some of the other guys here, My Tool Cart is homemade!

I started with a large steel box that I had laying around for years, it was build to mount on the front of a homemade trailer, to hold chains, tow ropes etc.
I really didnt know what to do with it until this.

I welded some legs, with 2X3" tubing that I had laying around.
Added cross supports, locking swivel casters, a steel plate and angle iron on the bottom.

I cut up a Craftsman 3 drawer box and welded it in the front of the Toolcart.
Added a handle, an outdoor waterproof outlet-Box with an extention cord that is wrapped up on the back of the toolcart.
Added a rubber matt on top, A handle and chains for the lid.

Added a sidebox under the box that I bought off of Mickey O...looks like it belongs there, doesnt it?...trust me...it was just dumb luck!

Made my own fold-up side tray and under the lid is trays, compartments etc...for all my spare tools...I use this for Driveway repairs...it is Heavy as Hell, but rolls nicely...and it will be around alot longer than me!

its still not done, I am Painting it Chevy Orange, adding a few spare 1965 Impala SS Flags to it...just seeing what it ends up looking like...sorta a "work in Progress"
