Im buying a Snap-On 3 drawer cart now, #KRSC31APCM. Where are people getting the magnetic socket and wrench holders i see on the lids of the carts??

*I've gotten mine from the Snappy truck, you can find them cheaper from www.nationaltoolwarehouse.com or www.mechanicstimesavers.com or www.sjdiscounttools.com. Just a little advice- Don't overload the lid, it will wear out the gas shocks quicker.
But since you're buying a new cart tell your dealer to toss a couple in as a good will gesture.

I just built this. I had a floor jack to fix. My knees and my back are not very comfortable working on the floor. Had lumber left from building the garage and some wheels. It's 45" tall so I can work without stooping. Used a come-a-long to lift the jack on top, than wheeled it into the house garage where it was warm. The new garage is not closed up tight enough to heat yet.

I LOL'd too .

Reminded me of this:
http://www.autoblog.com/2011/02/24/kit-cat-mercury-cougar-makes-perfect-bugatti-veyron-substitute/

I could let the chrome S-O face badge on the HF cart slide, but to be so brazen to put the 2' long decal on the inner lid constitutes some type of inferiority complex or at least that's what my psychotherapist just texted me.

I've got a nice new black HF cart that I'll hopefully get around to putting together today, and a giant Snapon sticker.....where to put it? hmmmmmmm........

I'll bet I can come up with something tasteless!

HA! I knew the pictures of my cart would get a rise out of some here. It was done completely as a joke and is not for resale or ripoff profit.

Here is the story I have a buddy that works for a major Nascar team and he recently changed jobs/teams/shops. He does a very specfic job that requires a specialized cart that he has modified to fit his needs over past few years. When he changed teams he came from a corporately sponsored Snap-On team and the new shop is corporately sponsored by Mac Tools. Any and I mean any tool other than Mac is completely forbiden in the shop. So beening that his cart no longer looks like a Snap-On factory box he took the emblem off and had the paint guys spray it in the a Mac Tools team color.
We slapped his old emblem on the HF cart as a joke to email his old Snap-On corporate rep. The 2' Snap-On sticker came with my Classic 78 I bought off the C/L last year and was wasting away on the shelf never to be used.
Again this setup was done for a joke and will not be sold for profit.

And I LOL'd, but you have to look no farther than e-bay or your local Craigslist to find the fraud tho. I've seen boxes "up-badged/re-badged" so-to-say, then sold knowingly as a "fake" to a shop floor co-worker for cheap, then flipped several times more to only end up being passed off as the "real thing" five owners down the line.

I also LOL because I have that same HF box that is de-badged & empty in my garage and every time I offer it for sale, the price of new 5 dwr HF boxes at $169 has pushed the price of the used ones well under $100. I had someone offer me $50. Heck, for that price, I might as well scrap it or turn it into birdhouse, chicken coop or bunny hutch because it is far better and worth more than a $50 service cart out there.

Oddly, I;d like to put the US General badge back when selling on but iit was lost with no replacement available. Oh well.

Dang.....they should have said heres a new MAC box filled full of MAC tools for free!!!! lol

Oh they did , his main box is about 10' long (2 standard 54" bottoms boxes with overhead hutches and the biggest end lockers I have ever seen) and 6' high filled with new tools. He has to share the main box with 3 other guys so each man has his own pimped out rolling cart. He says its kind of a game to see who can fab up the slickest, cleanest and most useful cart. He joined the new team at Christmas so the Daytona push was full blast. I'm sure he will be getting a new cart shortly once things settle down after the 3 long weekends that start the year.

As for the HF box, it will soon be removed from the base and mounted under the bench in our race trailer. The picture makes it look a lot better then in person. The emblem is double sided duct taped, and the sticker has tons of bubbles and looks like trash.

It sure would be cool to see what the Nascar guys do to pimp up their rolling carts. I bet they have some good ideas I could borrow

I ended up putting the big Snapon sticker on front, but also leaving the US General badge. That should leave some scratching their heads, although I really do want to find something decent to put in place of the ugly little plastic thing. Such a good looking cart and then putting such a halfassed emblem on it mystifies me.

They do have good ideas and pretty good supplies and machines to make everything. It will be a couple of weeks at least before I can get over there and maybe snap a few spy pics. The race shops are crazy busy this time of the year trying to play catch up and get grooving. Usually they are not crazy about random vistors snapping pics but I will see what I can sneek.

I'm sure this has been covered, but did they change the paint job on the red HF cart? I was there today checking it out, and it had the same finish has the larger tool boxes, but a couple pics on here make it look like it is glossy.

The HF carts are gloss and have been for about 8 months or so. The wrinkle finish is the older style.

I think that the newer, glossy-painted carts and 13 drawer cabinets are gradually beginning to show up in the stores. Lots of the old crinkle finish ones still around though.
