somewhere in this thread, and damned if I can find it now, is an organizer for impact guns, they hang by the NPT fitting and it goes on the side of a service cart, I have searched and looked and even googled a bunch of key words and I just cant find them, anyone know what I'm talking about? thanks.

I know the pic your taking about but I think that was custom made by the owner. I do remember seeing a pic of a snap on rack that was made for a dealer truck to show the air tools on display.

Matco tools has one its called an airtool holder. Hangs 5 tools and has the ability to be locked. Part number ath5

It is a bottom chest that I use a service cart around the factory where I work. The biggest drawback for me on a standard cart is the lid, I felt I needed the space to set stuff on and work. I've added a center cabinet from Menards and a Sunnex 8011 prybar rack.

It is a pretty well built cart, and I'm happy with it.

Hi all, so I decided that since I'm changing jobs and becoming a diesel tech I guess it's no longer practical to have a huge box I cant wheel around, so I bought the 5 drawer HF 700lb cart. I have some pics to share but first I'll just say it's a lot larger than I was expecting, and very well designed and seriously stout material, 14ga steel, thick and beefy.

I had the guys at HF take it out of the box to load in the big truck to bring it back to Wy. from SLC, then in the suburban, much larger than I expected.

I took the drawers out to make it easier to assemble and move, after seeing some "bad powder coat/paint" threads, I had a closer look, and it's comparable, a few places the machine missed but overall very well constructed.

The grey at the bottom in this pic is the reflection of the carpet in the suburban.

Assembly was very easy, make sure to leave the bolts loose, I tried hand tight and had to loosen them up as I went. I noticed the wheel mounting area is reinforced like their large boxes, nice to see.

The drawers are all rolled top and made to the same strength as the big boxes, very well done, all ball bearing slides and all riveted in place.

The instructions for the mid height frame shows that the end pieces should be on top of the side pieces, mine simply wouldnt go together that way, nothing lined up unless I did it the other way round.

Once I got it all together I was surprised at how large it is, and at 175 lbs, very stout.

I havent got much moved in to it yet, not totaly sure what I'll want on hand yet so I'm going slow with it.

Overall it's an amazingly great deal at $179, and if you have the time and/or patience you can get them a few times a year for $149, at that kind of price you could get a couple and not have large boxes if you just the home maintenance kind of tinkerer. I know I will have a couple more soon to use at home.

The "poor powder coating" would be caused by the Faraday cage effect. Its an electrical "cage" that you can visibly see when powder coating something in a corner like you see here. Simply because the gun was pointed directly into the corner. The angle of the metal creates a change in direction of the charge and repels the powder instead of attracting it.

Like in the other threads about it, you can tell the metal isnt bare and it's still protected, so it's not a concern and I doubt I'll ever see that spot again.

I wasn't going to post a pic of one of my carts until I saw the pic of the car supported by four and then lack of powder coating on a snapon box. Mine suffer from similarcircumstances. I built 10 of these when I owned an off-road aftermarket manufacturing business. All components were formed out of 1/8" steel and, as a result, are hella strong. I used them for moving piles of parts between the CNC machines during ops and then to the shelving. I sent two up to the other facility where they used them for similar purposes. One ended up a service cart that, quite often supported differentials and, as I was told, an entire jeep once. As an owner I was petrified and now years later, wish I had a pic. I now only have two of them but they're no different from the day I assembled them...and they're still unpainted and 100% rust free (though I do live in Colorado FWIW).

I would never forsee it being an issue. I work in a powdercoat shop (plus as a mechanic), so I see both sides of the coin here. Just wanted to give an "explanation" of the lack of powder in the corners.

my cart empty for cleaning. When I bought it it was missing the keys fortunately I had spare all keyed the same locks that I was able to install.

I bought the same box but all yellow and do not have keys either. The guy I bought it from lost the keys. did you have the locks rekeyed or did you replace the locks?

I had four keyed the same locks I bought at a closing down sale for a local Rona hardware store. I had to open out the holes in the draw slightly and I used the original levers of the locks and I had to open up the square hole slightly to get the lever to fit on the locks.

I know that MAC, NAPA and Snap On all sell sets of four "keyed the same" locks, the NAPA part number is BKP 815-6262 for.

I think all three companies get this cart from the same place. I purchased the extra draw from NAPA it cost $75 Can with the CAA discount it is $126 off the MAC truck. It is the same gauge steel as the original. Only problem is it comes in blue so I will have to paint it black. The locks on the extra draw are the same size as the original ones on the cart.

Thanks for the info. I found it on Napas site and added it to my amazon wishlist and amazon brought up a matching set for half the price. Napas set was 24.99 and the Sunex set they recommended was only 11.99. How many drawers can you add I have two now?

I have solved it a couple times, our shop manager always tells us to stay busy if we slow down(rarely) and what's easier to keep busy/get frusterated with than a rubic cube. Hehehe(i know that isnt wahat he means by staying busy but its fun to mess with him a bit.)

Those pics are about a year old now, ive added more to the stacks in each drawer.

The 4107 has 7 drawers with the upper two being 1 inch drawers. The lower 5 are the exact same drawers. What is strange is that even though the 46 is a 4107 with a lid , it is only 1590.00 and the 4107 is 1995.00. More storage, less cash. SOLD !

my cart now has three draws on it, the original two plus the extra one from NAPA. I have just bought the leg extensions off the MAC truck to allow me to increase the access space to the bottom tray. I will post a new picture one I have installed the extensions. I figure you could add a fourth draw if you did not mind limited access to the bottom tray.

The 2107 and the 4107 are almost the same box. They both are a 7 drawer heritage box. The outside dimensions are slightly different , but they take the same part number drawers, so im not sure why they list the 4107 as a higher cubic inch box.

The big difference for me is the deep, double slide top drawer, and the castors, which also dictate max load.

The 2107 comes from snap on with the two 1" upper drawers.
The 4107 comes from snap on with the two 1" upper drawers.
The 4107 comes with double slides on the 8 inch bottom drawer.

The 2107 will take a little over 1300 lbs worth of tools. Thats like stacking 11 bare ls1 blocks on your toolbox. If you have over half a ton of tools, dont look at a heritage series. LOL.

The drawer slides are different , but they are both medium duty.

A new set of casters and 1 more set of slides and that 2107 could hold as much as a 4107.
