My home tool cart is getting pretty full. Granted I could stuff more things on it if needed but I found a cart with a sliding top so I decided to it a try. It's a Mac MB197UC in very good condition and the price was right for me at $400 on CL. It's replacing a Snap-On KRSC33. The MAC feels solidly built with heavier gauge steel then the Snap On. Debating on keeping or removing the additional 3 drawers on the bottom as I feel it was handy on the Snap On cart to have. Only time will tell how I like the sliding top but I think I will like the feature as I will then be able to put items on the cover and still access the top tray.

Finally got some pics of my old and new to me cart. Hoping the Mac one works out well with the sliding top. Here are some pics of the old one as it stands today. Hoping to do the switch over this weekend but I'm sure it will take longer then that. Getting a tool box/cart set-up always takes some trial and error for me to see what works best during actual use.

Ain't that the truth. I am busy getting mine set up now. It seems that it's 3 steps forward and two back. It's like the old man used to say " damnit boy you gotta build ten of something before you're any good at it". How do you like the sliding top?

I haven't had a chance to try it during any actual work but I tried to see the logistics of having something on and getting tools out. I think I will work but only time will tell I guess. I'll post pics once it's up and running.

I have used mine hit and miss. I don't wrench for a living, but I own lots of equipment as well as we play with Polaris rzrs. There are times I might as well be a wrench for a living. Lol. I'll post some Picts of mine rigged out once I get it filled.

I found this guy waiting for the trash pikup last week and I thought it was too good to go to the dump. BTW does anyone know how to get the drawers out of this box. I need to clean and lube the slides. No ball bearings but the price was great

Woa, details on that SK box please. Is that a 33" box? Friction or ball bearing drawer slides?
You will need a shim tool to release the drawer slides on the RemLine box.

They are quick adjusting waterpump pliers and bolt/nut grip pliers. I got them from Ash at GermanHandTools. He is a member of this site.

I have the Matco branded version of that cart and I am really happy with it. It has a lot of nice qualities in that it is expandable, light, small and with the low resale you can usually patch them together with other carts on Craigs.
Here is mine, I lowered the bottom shelf and raised the upper part to make more space to put things on the bottom shelf. All you have to do is drill the metal out and reuse the hardware. This particular cart got crushed by a car lift so I had to part it together with another cart that was in the back of the shop. I got a second drawer out of it so it was a plus on my part. Now it's at my house storing a bunch of **** with no organization.

Am I the only one using a Dresser for storing all of my tools? 9 Draws and pretty accommodating with lots of desk space for over the counter work. Pictures to be uploaded soon.

Great add on. Have the same setup other the the air tool rack and the folding shelf on the left below handle but thinking of added both now.Just finished adding the lower section to my HF 4-Drawer cart and getting it organized. Kobalt folding side shelves, Kobalt magnetic shelves on the lower right, and a Blue Point air tool rack. Into everything for $120.

The lower shelf was my way of being able to keep the handle, and at the time the magnetic shelves that were where the air tool rack is now. Conveniently, all the air tools in the cart, except the 3/8' air ratchet, can hang on the rack with the lower shelf up.
The lower shelf is nice not only for more tool surface area, but also for setting fluid bottles, and spray cans as they are less likely to bumped and knocked over.

It's a mix from over the years. Mostly Craftsman USA for the chrome and bit sockets. Deep impacts are also Craftsman USA, shallow impacts are Ingersoll Rand.
Debating on ordering the Sunex 1/2" Metric Master set, that currently has a rebate, to fill in the 1/2" drive tray. Then move the Craftsman/IR set to a mobile box with my cordless impact. Still up in the air on that one.

moved back into my 4 drawer hf cart after just using a box for the last 6 months, its really annoying for me to open a drawer every time i need a socket so here she is, this was just a hurry up and move in setup not sure what im going to do with the ratchet drawer....... probably buy more ratchets so i doesn't look so barren.
