@bodyguy thanks. How did u know I work on bmw's?
The shop box, the odd socket sizes that show regular use, and a buddy of mine works for a bmw dealer and your shop looked similar to his in some ways. Who other than bmw uses 16mm on sway bar links? Lol

You guys have a/c in the shop?

Tlplatter, that's quite the plier rack.

What do you use that large knipex for?

Thanks Mike. The large knipex pliers are actually my most used pair of cobras. I use them a lot on large pipe fittings and holding annilox roll shafts while someone else take out the hex bolts so they won't rotate. The plant I work at is also converting all of the belt driven starch pump to large air pumps so I have been using them a lot for the new pump fittings as well.

This is my tool cart from 2013, I've since moved on to a Snap on KRL 722 and this cart resides at my house; the current pictures of it aren't nearly as cool.

Started life a basic blue point cart. Hung a prybar screwdriver holder on the side. Added the cam shaft socket wrench racks. Used are exhaust bender at the shop to make the tray to lay above truck fenders while layin in the engine bay... The brace for the cam rack is a 6.4 powerstroke up pipe. The cart works very well for what I have in it

Ha-ha that actually isn't an o2 sensor socket. Slashed the side out of an 18mm socket so I could use it to compress the valves and install keepers on a Honda cylinder head!

I'm an GM ASEP student and this is my HF 5 drawer service cart. Absolutely love it! 61d828a1378babd1e912dff6a76dc401.jpg
Top is filled with sockets, ratchets, and extensions. The screw driver holes hold some nut drivers on the left and some screwdrivers and my breaker bars on the right. 187ca37b3f9d71441e8a45bf8db4d6ae.jpgb828e2798386afb65f9c01b07dde3669.jpgbb3d918cb43494ef466f9bb8de9a5189.jpg0e5c446f56161170dd0d867c12d8f928.jpge3b934a19b34a6dc4efae9ada389cedf.jpg40470ba935e2695e493cae632b7251e5.jpg

Same cart as Moose Landtran. It's my oil change cart. Harbor Freight or Homier I think.

Here's my MB199UC I use it because my work area is so large that it's much easier to have all of the basic and most commonly used tools I own in a large service cart that's easier to move than my entire box.

When I first got it

Then FedEx put a forklift through a carton that contained a side box for a different customer. It was sitting on the back of the truck because Mac credited my dealer after FedEx wouldn't take care of it. But instructed him to destroy it.

I wanted one anyway so i asked how much cash would save it from the scrap heap.

He told me he would let it go for $200 to cover the freight charges and everything he had in it. But then called Mac and told them all about what was going on and they told him they wanted like $237 to cover their costs in manufacturing and whatnot and they would honor the lifetime warranty. So I ended up paying $437 plus taxes for the brand new side box and bolted it up.

I'll take more pictures because I got a wild hair a few weeks ago and took a hammer to the dent and made the gap go away. You can hardly tell its messed up anymore. The dent also did not affect anything as far as functionality goes.

I don't want to be "that guy" making comments about tool truck prices all over, but how much did that thing originally cost so that $437 for a busted up one is a good deal?

That's nice. I like your color combo going on there. Same as my main box

Snap on black & Miller blue of course my latest Miller is Black.

$899 is the original cost for the side box. I didn't want to pay $400 but considering Mac is still honoring the warranty on it if anything ever goes wrong with it I was happy.

It's also a screaming deal to me because I was getting ready to drop near $1,000 after taxes on it anyway. So out the door for under $500 made me more than happy.

Also have to understand that while it's a good deal for me. If this box wasn't making me money I couldn't justify it.

But I look at it this way. The whole cart with side box cost me 52 hours of Labor.

Also since I've purchased it and gotten my tools closer to where I'm working my paychecks have been between 8-12 hours better than before. So it's paid for itself already. Sure I could have gotten something for less than 1/4 of the price. But how long would it have lasted and I don't know of any bargain brand cart with a lifetime warranty.

That does make sense.

I've got a hammer you can borrow to knock some of that dent out though. :D

I'll post an updated picture when I go to work tomorrow. I already took a hammer to it and you can hardly tell it's there anymore. I was actually working on the guys truck who originally bought it and I showed it to him and he was ticked that he sent it back. I didn't even tell him how much I paid for it. But he knew it wasn't even close to full retail.

I thought I would upload a pic of mine as it is diffrent then most. I found a stainless food cart from a school auction that looked like it would work well. It is larger thn most teardown carts and I like the folding shelf to hold tool kits.

A few things to keep in mind while looking. Look for the ones without heaters, I bought one of those as well and it ended up in the kitchen. Also save any bidding for the ones without the sneeze guard if they have one as they apparently are worth a LOT less, and I would have taken it off anyway. I have not seen many carts like mine so I wish you luck, my main reason for sharing mine was I think it is better then anything currently on the market so I figured maybe some other people could start thinking outside the box when looking for service carts as well.

Hey Carson,

Those are just two different size magnets I put together to make those holders. The larger rectangle magnet the picks lay on is one piece, then I used smaller rectangle magnets to create dividers on the larger magnet; it works surprisingly well.

Thanks for the insight. I'll have to keep an eye out for materials to build something similar. Never seem happy with the different ways I've tried to organize picks.

^ I really think that food cart is cool. Nice to see something different.

Anyways. Here's the pictures of the back of my cart now after I banged on the dent with a rubber mallet for a little bit.

Yeah. It's still tore up pretty good in the middle where it bolts up to the main cart. But since it's bolted together you can't see it. So it doesn't bother me.

Yeah it's a great cart. I love it. It would look great matching that maximizer.

I can't remember where I got the mug. Either Wally World or albertsons. It's not as big as it looks. Only 20 ounces. But it's fat so I don't knock it over
