yes it is made in the u.s.a. This cart as far as I know it was manufactured in the 50s.

Didn't want to make a new thread for this question, and thought this would be a good spot to ask. I'm thinking about getting a couple of carts soon. A bigger one, and a smaller one. Figure I might as well get them while I get student discounts. I'm pretty much sold on getting a krsc46 as the bigger cart. Since I can only get one box at discount, I looked at Matco and saw the MSC2 for $423 and thought about getting that as a smaller cart. However, I'd like to know two things. Is this a durable cart? Where is it made? If it's made in China, I might as well save the $423 and buy something from Sunex for cheaper. But if it's USA made, then I'll likely get it.

I have an 8057 in black from Sunex for home use. I was looking for something different for use at work. Not a whole lot of space, which is why I decided on buying just the two carts. The smaller one will be moved around a lot, the krsc46 probably wont be. I like the way the matco looks, but like I said, if it's not US made then it's not worth over $400 imo.

The Matco MSC2 is made in China. A friend at work just bought one. I just bought a MSC4 and its also made in China. Kinda disappointing.

Got this dropped off today. Snap on says there discontinued, but you can still order it under repair parts in pieces :)

Check into sunex I hear good stuff reguarding their tool carts. You could get the six drawer for under 600...

Yeah that's a good cart. I had the same exact one. Only it was branded as a Matco. Other than the drawer handles you can't tell the difference. Other than I paid $1100 for mine after taxes.

Eurotech67 how much did they charge you for the cart and is it the Blue-Point one?

I think it came out to $190. It is the bluepoint one.
Here's the #'s if anyone's interested, the only think not on here is the plastic inserts for the wheels

Not a bad price, I think I would have held out for a second hand one, but there aren't many going and those that are, are wanting nearly new prices, looking at a gloss black one myself, keep browsing eBay and gumtree, one will turn up at the right price.

It just occurred to me that a tool cart with enough room down below on a shelf would make good storage for my jack stands that end up biting my toes in their current spot under my bench.

Here is my roll cart at home. If there is a common theme with mine, it is cheap. I got the cart used for $100, and a lot of the tools in it are secondhand. 9bdc123e9749204d3fd126394ab1dfb5.jpg
In my top drawer alone there are Pittsburgh, Klutch, Craftsman evolv, Craftsman, Craftsman pro, Sk, Mac, Matco, and a couple Snap On. You have got to love variety. 0a7d1c089aeea2048f1cb65688cddf10.jpg

As this is a home set, I normally bide my time and either buy good tools when in can get a good deal on them, or buy what I have to if there is a specific thing I need to get the job done. [emoji482]

2 drawer matco cart I got from my snap on dealer. I can fit almost everything I need on a daily basis. I also throw a bunch of random **** on the bottom as well. Still go back to my main box for my air impact, air hammer and stuff like that. If I had the 3 drawer cart I could fit everything for 90% of my work.

Being a former body tech, I always bought high quality tools which were very expensive. Now that I am out of the business and a little more sensible, I checked out this cart from Harbor Freight. I couldn't believe how solid this thing is. My only complaint would be the fake chrome trim on the drawers keeps falling off. I will be gluing them on though. It's heavyweight and rolls nice. I am using it as my metal straightening tool/bondo-sandpaper supply cart. The douchebag manager at HF gave me a hard time when I asked him to open the box before purchasing. I wanted to be sure it wasn't damaged and sure as **** it had a small bend on one flange (which unbeknownst to the douchebag is hidden). I complained and he gave me the cart as an open box item for $125. I yanked off the US General emblem and added a Snap-On decal and have fooled everyone who has seen it including a buddy of mine who is a Snap-On ***** and spends way too much money with them. The side shelf is something I already had.

New cart just got dropped off my snap on dealer. Comes to me every Monday first stop for the whole week he had it for a person who ordered it. But all he said was they jumped ship from the shop and it was dropped off there and he is no longer there. Other employees opened it and one was using it when he found out and got it said he would give it to me for 610 since it was used and has some very very minor blemishes. I traded in my bluepoint cart on top of that very cool man gave me 400 for it and it's only worth 500 so I thought that was pretty cool!

Hopefully going to get this soon from a friend/ex-coworker. It's in black and has only been used for about 7 months or so.

What model is that cart? I have never seen the 3 drawer Mac. Would match my box perfectly lol.

Is the red box next to your cart your main box?
Is that a homak box?

Yes that is my main box. Its a hf44 inch with a locker. Got that first when I got out of the coast guard and started working in a shop. Filled that, changed jobs with a different style shop that I never know what bay im working in so I bought a cart. That took out a good chunk of my tool box, when both are full again I'll buy a bigger cart or a tool box, havent decided yet

Gotcha, yea it's funny the original hf boxes they were selling were identical to the homak boxes (the full length aluminum drawer pulls) they have since switched to a new design which doesn't have that solid look anymore. I looked and looked for one of the older ones.
I just got into mechanic work I was strictly electrical but now do diagnosis and light duty. That matco cart is in my opinion one of the best options for a cart. A lot of the carts guys have in the shop are barely capable of making it across the shop.

It's not a name brand cart, but I don't work on anything but own cars. Just a basic HF black tool cart with a clearance sale Husky 2 drawer on the bottom. I think I've spent more on stickers than on the entire cart. It works well for what I need it for.
