Saw a guy driving down Hwy. 26 hauling a Matco cart and double bay box in a trailer. He just had them strapped together with no padding between them.... I wonder how much paint they lost. Both looked relatively new....

This is my newest tool cart, the ATD 70400. I'm quite happy with it so far. It holds quite a bit more than my old 4 drawer cart, so I don't find myself walking across the shop to my main boxes as often.

The bottom drawer and the side. I added a HF holder for my disposable gloves and I made a cup holder, because coffee is important.

Haha the longer I'm out the more moto I get lol. I got out in 07 I'm allowed to be a bit moto.

I hear you man.

Looks like you were a year ahead of me on both ends. I was 2004-2008.

What unit and A.O. were you with/in?

I was with HQ Co. 6th Marine Regiment. (RCT-6) in Fallujah from Jan. 2007 to Feb. 2008.

Got this today, it's a 41" homak h2pro. Long story short, my little frankencart I put together was on its last leg, over loaded, and the hf side box left a lot to be desired. I was planning on building my own frame and adding a side cabinet when I ran across the homak. Bonus points for matching my toolbox. I have pretty big plans to customize it and make it a real workhorse.

I've had this thing for a few weeks now, slowly adding my most used tools to it. Added a cheapy 5" vise and 24" magnetic bar to it. It's heavy but rolls well. I need to get 2 more swivel casters for it to make it easier to maneuver in tight spaces. The drawer liners won't stay put, I'll put some adhesive on them when I get a chance... I do love the pull out work surface.

The Homaks aren't bad at all. I was surprised to see the swivel casters on the opposite side of the push handle though. Guess that's a moot point if you're going to get an extra set. All tool cabs should come with all swivel castors in my opinion. It can't be all that much more expensive to do. First time I've seen a magnet used for pry bars. Some of them look like Mayhew Dominators.

The box came with riv-nuts on each side and 2 handles. Silly as it sounds, I put the magnet bar on the right side since I am right handed, makes it 'easier' to just turn around and grab a pry bar. Adding the 2 swivel casters will take the awkwardness out of turning it with the handle mounted on the other side. The tabs that mount the magnet were spaced perfectly for the riv-nuts that were already in the box, worked out great. Pry bars are a mixture of snap on, mayhew and tekton, the magnet is extremely strong, they're not going anywhere, I can hang a 48 ounce hammer on it without issue.

An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
GTA Matt that Homak intrigues me, reviewing it, it does offer a lot of cool features, especially the full length drawer on top and slide out trays in the locker portion are great idea. I always fight to get stuff from under my Waterloo so much so I added a fee large Akro bins but when pulled out all the rattle cans shift around. One question I have in regards to magnetic bar / prybars I suspect there is no problem with other techs borrowing your prybars?

Worked out great in regards to color.

This combo started life as my service cart. I went threw several carts and none ever fit my needs right. When I first started at Bobcat, I had a pretty good size shop to myself and impromptu service calls were a real possibility. I had the road chest ready and traded two carts towards the classic 60. The top box got filled with needed tools for service calls and general shop work. The cart was a mix of shop supplied and additional storage. For most jobs I could roll it where I working while my main box stayed parked in its spot. If I had a service call, I backed the truck in under the overhead hoist and lifted the top box into the truck. Grab the parts needed and hit the road. This only lasted about six months as I became the road tech with a real service truck. Now the box serves as my main box at work as there was no room for my main box.

My hf tool cart that I modified into an auto body/welding cart
Built a bottle rack. Cut the front out and added a lower brace so the mig door can swing open as well as a custom stainless worktop and handle.

Very nice! How does this compare to the burning cart HF now has? Is it now cheaper to by the cart with the bottle holders on it?

Not sure I'm understanding what you mean?

Lots of guys have been modifying the 4-drawer cart into a burning cart. HF began selling a cart specific to burning and welding. Just wondering if it's any good.

Oh...those carts put the welder up too high for my likings. The way I did it puts the heavy welder down at the wheels where it should be. I used to own the old harbor freight welding Cart and I felt like it was always going to tip over. My welder cost me over $1000 bux so I don't like that feeling!

DANG!!!!! I like that!!!!!!! Tell me more about that if would be so kind...

Not sure what to tell ya, not much to it :D SO KRSC100 series cart. I wanted a heavy enough cart to put a lot of stuff on, sometimes that's heavy parts / assemblies as well as tools. I use it like a rolling workbench. I didn't really care for the other carts that are either lighter duty / load rating or else just small roller boxes full of drawers and I also load the top down too much to use a flip top lid type (had one of those in the past and always needed stuff inside while the top was full)....I love everything about it except the price!..

EDIT: oh yeah, I do think the handle *****! Seriuosly! Every SO box I have ever messed with had a nice handle mounted on it. This thing works, but looks like something I could whip up outta scrap metal around the shop. Just doesn't fit the style of everything else so well done. (I hope some Snappy corporate people are reading this!)

Dang I like this idea. If I hadn't already built a custom welding cart, I would steal this one for myself.

Good Job!

Do you all protect your screwdriver/prybar holders at all? It may sound crazy, but after spending a good amount of money on a good cart Id like to keep it in good shape as long as I can

I was thinking about just putting some tape or stick on vinyl over them for a little protection

I am organizing mine now, only had it for about a year. I found a large plastic tray that had another smaller tray that slides on the lip of the larger one, it had to be squeezed in, I think I may do some foam instead of the regular liner. I am planning on putting all my 1/4" and 3/8" sockets along with my most used tools in the top drawer. I have not figured out what to do with the bottom, it is a catch all right now, but originally it was supposed to be for "in progress" parts. I know I can order another drawer, not quite as nice as the other two, but I may do that.

Yeah, mine's collecting leftover parts and junk.
I had though of working off the mounting holes for the add-on drawer and fab up a basic shelf to go in place there to make better use of the space, but whatever goes there has be okay getting dirty since it's open.

You will like the handle much more if you turn it upside down, aerosol cans or drinks fit in it perfect, can hang stuff on it, I put my cell in one end and also hang shop cordless phone beside it. I even might drill a hole in the end of handle also and put my 36" prybar in it.
