Ok, I'll start...

Among other things, I liked the double tray plastic socket organizer from Sears that I had, but wanted to get it into slide drawers. One fit fine. However, the other one was to large. No problem. I cut it up into small sections and used it that way...

I also used some black foam to wedge in between things to keep everything in place.

For me, "organization" is just making sure a tool goes back exactly where it came from... I had friends over last w/e... at the end of the day I couldn't find a screwdriver... it was in the right drawer, but 4" from where it was supposed to go...

Goodness! If I get it back to the tool box in any drawer, I'm doin' OK. :D

LOL, agreed! My problem is I have 3 garages and they're scattered among them. Neighbors prolly think I'm nuts walking from here to there but really I'm just looking for the large vice-grips!:wtf:

Jeff - I really like the use of the "Sort-a-tool" organizer for chisels, punches, etc. Never really heard good things about using them for their intended purpose (storing wrenches), but I think you may have found a good use for them after all. I've been searching for a good way to keep them organized so they don't roll all over the place. Maybe I'll go pick one up this weekend...

I've been there... and hated it... and the result is I'm now annoying about putting tools away... I'll even do it when I'm in the middle of a project and just have too many tools scattered about... I'll go, "AARRRRGGGHHH!!!" and put everything away, then continue, just taking the tool I need for a particular task.

It takes much longer to look for tools than it does to keep them clean and organized. And the less space you have, the more important this is.

I will eventually be organized. Right now I have no free time, and the tools just piled up with no home to file in to.

In a few weeks, gladiator geartracks are going on the wall, and things should be getting better. As for now, I'll share with you all my disorder.

Yeah, they are kitchen drawer slides. I am rethinking the idea, as I really like the plier organizer that has just recently been talked about on this board in the the tool discussion forum.

most drewers have foam that has been cut out for the shape of each tool. I discovered that you can hold more wrenches by stacking the duplicates than using the angled holders. also, when you roll the box around, nothing moves and you can take a quick look through to see if you are missing anything

Yes, PARK bike tools. I use my craftsman box all the time and the Snap On box had the over flow.

My stand is around but I was just holding a small BMX bike there so it would not fall on the car. Was in the process of restoring two SE racing PK rippers. If you were never into BMX as a kid you would not understand. These two bikes were my race bikes and worth a few bucks today. They are also aluminum but thanks for the heads up. Oh, that gray bike hanging is a titanium ride.

I'll have to post my bike-wrenching set-up sometime... I have all of those tools in a C-man 3-drawer intermediate chest. Also have a Park PRS-5 Race Stand.
