Hey, i really like it when people find new uses of stuff, so lets see what you guys out there use as a toolbox, something thats not intended for tools. Archive cabinets, library card cabinets, etc...

Or maybe the other way around, you have an expensive Snap On toolbox to keep all your kitchen cutlery in? or maybe for the kids LEGO? maybe you keep all your personal hygiene stuff like razors, toothbrush, deodorants and all that misc in a ready to go craftsman top unit?

I myself has not done so much repurposing (spelling?), but her is what i have done:

I used old safe deposit boxes and made drawers in my bench, they slide out abot 2/3 then the lid can be opened and the drawer is also fully removable if i need to use it elsewhere.

And this has been showed earlier here, its 3 of IKEAs "HELMER" unit, its for home office use, no ball bearing, just plain sheetmetal, but they are cheap and with a small repaint of the fronts into black, i think they look ok for garage use.

Now show me something you have found another use for.
Or toolboxes that is used for something completely else then it was intended to.

I use a krl top box as a work bench. Had to remove the gas struts so i could unlock it without the top flying open.

I "donated" my old 26" craftsman to my 4 year old, she keeps her "tools" it....and her play markup....she's going to be so confused when she's older lol

I use a chest of drawers from Goodwill to store my bigger items, like clamps, nail guns, ect. I'll eventually upgrade to a lateral file cabinet so I can lock it.

I also have an upper cabinet that I framed the bottom, put casters on it and store all my power tools in it.

No pics right now, but more to follow.
