Great job, that looks really nice. However I think that is the first time I have ever heard anyone try to make a snap on box match a craftsman :lol_hitti Usually its the other way around.

Very nice, I saw your other post about the 5 drawer mid. Scrap bin you say, so where would this dumpster be located? :D

What is the width on that bottom box? A friend of mine just bought an identical setup, 3 drawer bottom with 5 drawer mid as the top. We are trying to figure out a way to convert the top of the mid box into a standard covered top with hinged lid. Any suggestions?

I expected to get some grief over the backward imitation :D If the snap on was black and red I woulda tried to do it the other way around, I just happen to like the two tone scheme. One day I will take the drawers out of the H/F boxed and paint them black too. I painted the cabinets red with black doors to match (sorta) too.

Ahh, so you are one of those folks that likes things to match? You would probably throw up if you saw my shop :lol_hitti At least 3 different shades of each color in there. Nothing matches, not even the floor. I find it adds a real classy touch. :D

Just added the middle chest, picked it up for $40 (plus $4 for paint) at sears the other day. I painted the drawers since they came black. The color is a little lighter but not real noticeable unless you're looking for it. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out especially for $45.

That Performax intermediate chest is almost a dead-match to your Stanley boxes.

Surprisingly it is an exact match. I ordered the middle chest on based only on pictures and when I got it I was pleasantly surprised that they obviously had come from the same factory. Everything (the paint, the drawer slides, the drawers) is exactly the same.

Do you have a whole house vacuum, or is that hooked to a shop-vac somewhere? And if it's hooked to a shop-vac, do you loose any suction with the hose being so far away?

Here is some of mine. Work box (black Husky), my portable box for when I go riding, still adding tools to it. The blue Craftsman my little box is sitting on is my old work box that I use at home now. Also just bought the HF 5 drawer cart.

Thanks. I checked out one the plumber at work had, and couldn't believe how much fit. Now I just gotta start downsizing/organizing so I'll be able to pull a car in the garage again.

Decided to get a HF 44" for all of my jewelry studio hand tools. I'm moving to start graduate school at Texas Tech and was a little apprehensive about leaving all my tools out or in a bench that doesn't lock. You think Snap-on stuff is expensive... (I won't go into it) But so far started putting everything into it. Good storage and everything will fit (just so).

Everything in the benches and peg board will go into the box.

That's some pretty massive hardware for jewelry, especially that anvil. Do you make bracelets and necklaces for the Statue of Liberty or something?

Very nice, super organized

What size are the flat files you have? I looked at picking up a set of 3 5 drawer units a while back, but they were 53" wide x 43" deep. The depth is what killed the deal for me. Other than that I think they are built superior to all of the standard tool boxes, barring Lista.

What type of drawer liner are you using. It has an interesting pattern to it. Is that carpet by chance?

Hi everyone, new to this forum and I've spent the last few days checking out all the boxes in this thread, there is some nice stuff going on out there.

Anyway, thought I'd share the reason I never have any spare cash lol

My old box is the right one, fell in love with the orange box the second I saw it, damn you Mr Snap-On!

Sorry bout the crappy camera phone quality, it really shines in real life, mirror chrome is a major PITA to keep clean though

Thanks for the compliments guys. This forum has inspired me to get organized and build my tool arsenal.

The inside drawer dimensions are 37" wide x 26" deep, which make the exterior dimensions about 40" x 28". My countertop is 30" deep, which works really well for me.

The drawers are lined with rubber mats I purchased on eBay. Here's a link. It was the only material I could find that came in sheets large enough to cover the drawers. It works pretty well, however I need to glue it down since it slides back when the drawers are slammed. The foam in the socket drawers is Harbor Freight Anti-Fatigue Foam Mat Set (Item#94635). I want to foam the other drawers, but I'm not ready to stop adding tools.

That sounds like the ideal size for storing tools. I went to look at the 40+" deep ones, but I couldn't even reach to the back of the drawer

Your shadow setup on the sockets looks really good. Makes it easy to spot when one is missing I bet.

Here is my old and new craftsman, I use the old one for household tools and the new one for automotive.

Very nice. Although I don't own any of the red/grey craftsman boxes, I really like them. Dare I ask how the quality compares in person, the old vs the new?
