My latest purchase & probably the last toolbox i will ever need !!

A bit off topic but how do you like the snap on 3/8 micro lithium ratchet?

I have the scewdriver and impact from the series but I am torn on the ratchet.
Nevertheless man congrats on the box I think the Grammy award for most epic tool box purchase in a single sitting goes to you.

Figured update my progress it's coming slowly. I get about one drawer done a day. Between the sanding, priming, sanding primer and final prime coat. Then finishing off with the vinyl wrap.
Still trying to figure out what to do with the handles. I had rubber coated them but I found with them shiny I get more light and visibility on the carbon fiber. Can't find the handles new anywhere but can't stand to leave the nicked up ones on [emoji30]

How about plastic dip? They have a glossifier if you want it shiny and just about any color you can think of.

I been contemplating that. I may have to pickup a can and give it a shot. I wonder how it will hold up to greasy and oily hands

Don't put that spray on plasti dip **** on. Maybe if u could actually "dip" them like a tool handle. Otherwise I'd powdercoat them

It's ok , I find the body feels a bit week if your trying to crack off a tight bolt vs a regular ratchet but for medium duty stuff , brakes , suspension , engine bay it's good !

Here's my Snap-On box. I've had the top and bottom since 1998. I bought the center section in 2006 just before I got out of the business. It's a little beat up with scratches and a few dents, and some overspray, but I love it. It was my first box. I do sometimes regret putting stickers all over it and letting it get covered in overspray and whatnot but at the same time it brought back a lot of memories when I recently took it out of almost 10 year storage. Only thing I don't like is that I didn't get roller bearing drawers on the top/bottom boxes because I couldn't afford them at the time.

That's a nice box, dents, dings and dirt show that it was used and helped you make a living. I think your Opie and Anthony WOW sticker is great! The current show not so much.. :(

I had to source handles like that before, IIRC proto still carries them.

You could make a wood overlay that will slide onto the handles.

That would be an option I like that idea because I feel I can keep the back portion polished stainless and the front part would be the wood.
How would I go about making the overlay

That would be my box, it's actually 1/4" steel plate with a ground finish. A lot more abuse resistant than a stainless top

Ah yes I recognize the username now. Yea love your box. I didn't realize that was a steel plate, awesome. Does Proto give you any paint code I am still trying to decide to go blue or black for the cabinet part of my build

Judicious use of a heat gun will get the stickers off, and some WD-40 will remove the adhesive residue.

Here ya go! It's a 50" Proto 450HS. Our welder onsite cut me a chunk of plate for a top, and I now have a small Beach chest for overflow.

New to GJ, Here is my box. I plan to upgrade to a larger one soon as I am running out of room, but I will keep this one as it was the first toolbox that my father gave me.

That old craftsman on the bottom was my grandfathers that I refinished to hold all my electrical tools.

Nice! I like that top chest. It's a little bigger and older than the one I started with.

Pretty cool that you've still got your Grandpa's box.

Dude, that's a nice little set up! LOL... you even have a spot for your beer can sleeves!

I like the cart you built.

It's nice to see "regular guy" boxes as opposed to mega boxes that run in the many thousands.

logan_gibson, that's inspirational. Instead of buying a cart, maybe I'll just make one. I do like yours.

Curious, what does something like that list for? I'd imagine it has to be well over 25g's because the 144" ones are 24g and change on Snap-On's website.

He bolted two together

Mr big lists for 24. I think it was around 14 with stainless top last I asked. You should see the one on the rock n roll truck. It has a Hutch on left side top box on right. And then two lockers on each end. He said I could have it for 24k without the lockers.
