Got the two Husky boxes 2 weeks ago. Love them both so far

Left is a 72" with a raising work top.

Right is the 60" with a hutch and a 20" side locker.

The other pictures are what the Husky's replaced. Been "trying" to sell them, least that's what I told the wife. Put them on the opposite side wall of the garage for now. Eventually they'll get filled back up. LoL

I’d have to look up a receipt in old email to find out for sure. I got it from the foam factory. I shadowed the bottom layer in red. I was able to pick my thickness, density and color of foam. The 2” stuff for the air tools I cut with jig saw and then removed all the foam fuzz.

I spent way too much time at my local HF looking at that exact setup right inside the doors. Really had to restrain myself from an impulse buy. Same color too. Really not sure how I feel about the side box, I currently have a Series 1 44 with side box and the new drawers seem much skinnier than my current ones.

Please share some drawer shots when you get it set up!

Lol agreed reminds me of the lube guys that have just graduated tech school
Everything new And they put everything back in its exact spot if moved ,
I tell em give it time you won't care as much where **** goes or clean or not

Nicely organized. I have that exact same set of old (35+ years) Snap-on 1st Gen Contour Grip. I think it's my oldest set as I purchased it slightly used in 1988 when I started as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic and a co-worker traded them in on the 2nd Gen Square drive, I think was called the Powergrip Handle. Shortly after I purchased a new set of Powergrip (2nd Gen square handle) in Red and have had both ever since.

Love my Instinct handles but those old 1st and 2nd Gen square handled Snap-on's sure are nice as well and I try to use them all so none feel neglected or left out. ;)

Funny, I used to have a set of those old clear and blue Craftsman screwdrivers but no longer have them as most have been exchanged for the Snap-ons.

Thanks! The compliment means a lot coming from you since I follow your thread and really check out the organization in your shop.

Yeah, I think I bought the original set of Snap-on hard handles in the mid to late 70’s. Replaced a couple due to the dreaded hard handle disintegration. Lost another one or two. But the rest survive.

The blue and white craftsman long Phillips screwdriver, along with a couple other Craftsman drivers were my Dad‘s. They will always have a place in my tool box.
Crazy maybe but I like to think of him when I’m using them.

Nothing crazy about thinking of your dad when using his old tools, admirable and nostalgic in fact. I often wish I had more of my dad's tools but I think others got to them before he actually passed and unfortunately I think some went through pawn shops. They weren't the best tools in the world but they were the necessary ones he needed to keep the farm operational and what he could afford so I get angered when I think I don't have any.

The only tool I have of his is a portable and heavy threaded steel rivet press that we used on the farm to press the solid rivets out of teeth on the swather and compress the new solid rivets when a tooth was replaced. I think the only reason it was still in his workshed was because those who rummaged through his tools shed didn't know what it was.

I find it interesting how many US General boxes people here have. No criticism at all (I have one too) just an observation. Definitely speaks to how good they are.

You guys are so lucky to have the us general boxes over there, the options in Australia are dismal, the snap on boxes are even made in china but still priced at the made in usa prices.

That’s an amazing leap in logic. You don’t think the frequency of posts showing US general boxes has something to do with them being inexpensive? Possibly the cheapest toolboxes you can buy In these shapes and sizes? A better conclusion to your observation might be:

Definitely speaks to how cheap they are and how readily accessible they are across the USA.

Am personally still waiting for these mystical Lista/Vidmar deals to fall out of the sky and onto Craigslist.

Same could have been said for Craftsman tool stacks in the 90’s, with the same leap in logic. HF arguably makes the best bargain tool boxes and have for the past few years. That doesn’t make them great, but they are a good value for your dollar and modeled after professional boxes.

I waited 5 years for the mythical appearance of a tool truck box to appear on my local CL or FBM for anything less than retail, of course they wanted top dollar as many were also filled with cheap, worn and rusty tools.

I was at the point of a HF roller cabinet, but found the 52" Milwaukee with the wood top and a better drawer layout for myself and it was 50% off the HD retail price.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Get off my lawn now, please.
