i really like your setup Moose... well organized and functional. who made the xzn long bits you have? have you had any problems w/ twist? how long did it take you to figure out the snaps and hazets would fit just that way in the drawer?

Thank you. The long XZN are Snap-on, Hazet, Esgen and Stahlwille. No problems with twist at all, even when torquing headbolts on big diesel engines. The wrenches in the drawer are Snap-on and Elora, with a couple Heyco and Halfords and a lone Stahlwille in the mix. I didn't really figure out the layout, put what i had on rails on each side and then found that the stubbies and flat double-rings would fit in the gaps. That setupd works fine for me, and i'll do a similar thing on my second/third wrench drawers.

Full set of pics in a couple weeks. :)

Nice setup Moose. What wrench holders are those? Are they in a 2" drawer?

They're Snap-on (rebranded from someone else) cut to length with adhesive backing. The wrench drawer is a shallow one, i think a little less than 2".

Second wide drawer from the top:

Thanks. I'm looking at some ERNST ones and they look to be similar and will be going in a 2in drawer (about 1 3/4" clearance).

Liking these setups.

For me the speeder handles are Useless. They have there place but not for the avearge auto tech with air tools. The air ratchet pretty much made it obsolete except in a no-air situation such as a pit at a race track.

As far as ratchets go in 90% of all jobs I could get by with 6 ratchets total and then at least 4 spares for "Just in case you break one" you arn't losing money. It's that other 10% of the time where a specialty ratchet comes into play and really cuts your labor time down. When I was working I had three Ratchets that were my main ratchets. Just about everyday my main ratchets were a Snap-On 747 Roto head 3/8, 737 Roto head 1/4, 836 fixed handle 3/8. It was rare I ever picked up a 1/2 ratchet because most of that was done with air tools. Just that many times being able to shave off your time with a specialty ratchet paid for itself the 3rd or 4th time you use it. For the flat rate tech time fly by so fast it's unreal. Even when I had my own business I was still in a race with the clock. The only days a day drags by for a flate rate tech is when business is slow. You can do a job using a minimal amount of ratchets but if you can cut your time with a specialty ratchet then thats more money in your pocket. If you work straight by the hour or salery then there isn't as much pressure on you. In a flat rate world it's all about speed and being very precice. You wanted to be fast but it has to be right. You don't get paid to do the job twice because you cut a corner.

Updated shot of my 2 c-man boxes and the new "multimedia" area I created to get my radio and laptop off of my workbench. I got the red C-man lower chest around Christmas last year and it's steadily collected more car stickers over the year.

Here is my box and tools. Not as nice as a lot on here. But they do their jobs and work great. And all paid for.

The orange mac hammer and the led trouble light are two of my road side finds over the years.
