Is there suppose to be a wont in there?

Thanks for bumping this thread!

OOPS! yes... there should be a "won't." Unless you're the dude getting screwed by his ex on craigslist.....

Yeah, tools are a "white" vice... I don't make my living with them, but I use the money that I would otherwise spend on hookers and booze to buy tools. My wife appreciates that. :)

Here's mine. The Craftsman boxes are full so I bought the Macs used and will restore them when the weather is cooler (I'll probably paint them Ford blue). I just picked up the little Snap-on carry box and that will get restored pretty soon and will be painted red. My son has a Black three section Craftsman that is a little bigger than my Craftsmans that my dad bought him. We are working on filling them up. He's only 16 and they are about 1/3 full. The carry Craftsman next to my big boxes will be a bench box when I build my other workbench in the third garage.

Occasionally I have to justify the cost of tools to the wife.If it becomes much of an issue, I just have her get an estimate on any repair work needed on her car. That usually settles things good for quite awhile. (until it's my veh. that needs the work).

I just start asking her how much it costs to get her nails done and a pedicure. Then

Here's mine. The blue one is full of vintage tools. The other 2 are daily use stuff.

Whoa - That middle box is insanely similar to mine. My bottom is a Mac a touch newer than yours (handles are different, but there are holes drilled in the right places for handles like yours), and my top is a 10 drawer Cornwell that looks identical to your Mac top, and was probably made by the same company back in the day. Neat stuff.

PS - Here's my box...

RIckP330,

you have same box that my tech friend have it at dealership. oh man! he only use few tools in one drawer as top drawer was sockets set, impact wrenches, hammers, else but it seem to me that he have very small amount of tools in bigger toolbox. he consider to downsize toolbox but big problem is he bought new..... snap on guy will not give him a money back if he trade in for small box as snap on guy will give credit so he can buy more tools....

it is not my business to decide but bad idea to buy bigger toolbox and never buy any tools as it consider to be waste money on box...

Hello all,
The box is in my home garage. My problem is / was that I had several different tool boxes. One box for my mechanic stuff, one box for race car stuff, one box for my RC airplane tools, one box for home tools plus Tools laying around all over the shop on shelves.
I condensed all my doubles and put those away, now I can actually find stuff when I need it. For instance I have 6 water pump pliers and could never find one when I needed it. I kept them all in the box now but it was ridiculous how much stuff I had and how unusable it was until I got this box. The stuff like doubles of sockets I put away in the craw space for now. As I break stuff I shop up there first.
Don’t worry about not being able to fill it. I put in all that stuff above and still have empty draws!! I’ve been buying stuff off the Snap on website stuff I wanted for a while and now will be hooking up with the truck soon. See separate post.

Ok, here's my KRL1003 box. Completely out of room! Need a riser and maybe a side locker (or 2!). Pretty much everything in the box is Snap-On or Bluepoint.

LOL! I know, it's a sickness! Actually, though, I bought most of the stuff off ebay... including the box. Average about 40-60% of dealer list price on the web and my local guy cuts me a pretty good break.

Here's the latest addition to my garage, a 2 drawer tool cart. Plus my 2 roll cabs and top boxes

I'm running out of room

How old are you and how long have you been buying tools if you dont mind me asking. I thought my collection was nice, but i bow down to yours. (i do have the same box in red though) though its no where near that full. At least its filled with 100% Snap-on stuff. I know what you mean about the addiction.

I'm 37, got the snap-on bug about 2 years ago. Actually next weekend will be exactly 2 years ago that I bought my box. I have a friend that finally wore off on me. He has a KRL1004 quadruple bank with a side locker and the 1002 size top chest (he upgraded from a KRL1002 bottom chest to the 1004. His tool collection is much more impressive than mine. We both use our tools for our hobbies. We both do vintage Mustang restoration work and he does other small jobs here and there. The tool collections are overkill, we know it. But, we like quality stuff and can make enough extra $$ doing our hobbies to afford the tools, so it all works ok.

I have a fair amount of tools, and I use every one of them, some only rarely. Working on vintage mustangs, seems there is no way you could use all of those different sockets. Im not trying to be rude, I love your collection, and if I had the money, id maybe buy as much too, but I dont see myself buying tools that i dont need. My future tool purchases are mainly to make things I do now easier, like more air tools, which are just for convenience.

But come on, 7 f936 ratchets? (did I count right?). Sounds obbsessive compulsive to me. :shocking:

Yep, I would probably say there is a little OCD going on there... but I have actually pulled out most of those ratchets with friends over while doing major tear-down work.

I don't ever try to justify the tools, that would take away the fun of collecting them!

Well you do have a nice collection of tools there! I think that your not any where out of room yet. Your only drawer that is _full_ is the large socket drawer. The first thing you need to do is loose the crummy plastic trays that the tools come in. They waste TONS of room, when I got rid of mine I gained a lot of wasted space back. If you do you will have a lot more room. Your screwdrivers will all fit in one drawer that way. Rack up the rest of your wrenches etc... I would say your Box is about 75-80% full at most.
