It's wired to the box - DON'T TOUCH MY TOOLS!!!!!:bounce:

Just realized you can't see the roller!

That is some good security!

Is it some kind of homemade filter for compressed air? I see the guage and the two quick connectors and two press lock fittings.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Brandon, and I have been a long time lurker of this forum. I am from Canada, I love tools, and I love vehicles.

I am currently attending an Automotive Service and Repair program at my local community college. In order to graduate, all students in the trades fields must go on work placenments. Ours is five weeks, split into two and three week placements. We have just completed out first two weeks, and mine was at the local GM dealership, in the service department, of course. Long story short, one of the two apprentices there was a real young guy, and he liked to spend his money, but he could make more money on his fathers lobster boat, so the following day after I left he put his notice in. That day, I got the call, telling me "There has been some changes, and there may be an opportunity for me." I will be starting next Tuesday. Now this is made even more significant by two factors, one being another student was also working there for his placement, (unfortunately, he was not called) and I never expressed my want to work there, let alone apply, so them calling ME made me feel very good about my performance there, making that big of an impression in only two weeks. This was helped by the "Good word," the tech that I was working with put in for me. He had worked there for 34 years, and counting, and is the only current flat rate technician. So, in hindsight, I cost him money, because not only was I obviously slow (I say obviously, because he only has 34 years more experience than me) he was exceptionally quick, hence him being the only flat rate tech.

Anyways, sorry for gloating, onto the pictures.

Keep in mind, I am just starting, and have only spent two years building this tool set, I started at 16 and am now 18

Most tools are Mastercraft, and Mastercraft Maximum.

Storage is Waterloo, and works real nice. The roll cart is Powerbuilt, Canadian Tire's no name brand.

Sorry for some of the bad pictures, my Lady friend is stil getting used to her new DSLR, about half way thru the pictures, you'll notice they get better.

ENJOY.

Mine is the black three piece, as well as the roll around with added three drawer intermediate.
IMG_3550.jpg

Top section is 1/2" drive sockets, few specialty, and some sensor sockets, as well as my speed handle.
IMG_3551.jpg

The three drawers across the top are for my "Drives," and accesories, (universals, extensions, etc.) they are 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drive from left to right.
IMG_3552.jpg

Next are my screwdrivers.
IMG_3553.jpg

Then my pliers.
IMG_3554.jpg

And 1/4" and 3/8" sockets and specialty sockets, swivels, 12pt, etc.
IMG_3555.jpg

Top of intermediate is a drawer organizer with knife, punches and chisels, (steel and brass) as well as grinder spanners, and tapemeasure.
IMG_3556.jpg

Then specialty screwdrivers and pliers.
IMG_3557.jpg

Most used wrenches.
IMG_3558.jpg

Top of my roll cab are my hammers, prybars, files, and wire brush.
IMG_3559.jpg

Then a spare drawer, socket rails, and the drawer slides are for a cabinet im building to go behind my intermediate and top chest, they are 4" shallower than my bottom roll cab.
IMG_3560.jpg

Now my droplight, bulbs, gloves, and respirator.
IMG_3561.jpg

My junk drawer, to be cleaned out for my air tools, when I get them.
IMG_3562.jpg

Somehow I missed my bottom drawer, it is full of cased tools, tap and die sets, specialty socket sets, vernier caliper, and a couple of micrometers.

This is the top of my roll cart, with electric impact, grinder, drill, and etc.
IMG_3564.jpg

Spare metric wrenches, nut drivers, stubbies, boxed ratchet wrenches, and large ones.
IMG_3565.jpg

Same drawer, in standard.
IMG_3566.jpg

Start of my specialty tools.
IMG_3567.jpg

Start of my electrical tools.
IMG_3568.jpg

Chassis and brake tools.
IMG_3569.jpg

I like to use magnets to mount large or indiscriminate tools, pictures is my oil can and mystery case.
IMG_3570.jpg

The mystery case is my torque wrench, too large for any drawer, even out of the case. Dont worry though, secured by two magnets, both 25 pounds.
IMG_3571.jpg

Other side are some long 1/2" extensions, my breaker bar, and my meter stick.
IMG_3573.jpg

I hope you enjoy these.

I don't know if you meant to imitate "true ****" with the soft-focus effect ;), if you need to wait until your auto-focus, auto focuses :headscrat ....or if your camera is sick....:(

but they're all BLURRY!!:lol_hitti

Oh, well, we can make most of it out. NICE COLLECTION!

Also - do you keep all your empty plastic cases, or are those full as well?

Rusty - Nice start to your collection. Sounds like you did a bang-up job sucking up to the main tech....

I AM TOTALLY KIDDING!!! LOL!! It's not gloating, if you know you made a good impression - and tried your best to do so - then likely you succeeded. Not enough 18 YO's give 2 shits anymore, so when one does, it stands out. Some go to lobster fish - then can't find a job when they return and wonder why. Some make no impression at all and most (I dare say, now-a-day) make a ****** impression. I started in body shops when I was 14 and BUSTED MY *** to always show I was interested, smart and a good candidate. I never had anyone say anything negative - and they usually said something good. I was also never looking for work. You sound the same - good on ya.

K5Blazer - NICE Box and collection too!!

Nova Scotia, in the valley, near Windsor.

I saw a while ago before you changed your location, you are from Truro?
I have a good memory for small stuff like that.

There are only a couple of GM dealerships in Hants and Kings County's, I'll be starting at Cornwallis Chevrolet Buick & GMC.

And thanks for the compliments, Canuckian and E-TEK.

The tech was a great guy, even the Service Manager and Shop Foreman commented on how he basically doesn't take to the young people like how he did (I assume this is a mature board, so you get my point, I'm not always the best at conveying my thoughts). So I myself was quite impressed.

But the other fellow from my class, he's a really good person, and he tries, the real difference is I have been luckier, in the sense I've been around it all of my life, and before I went to school, I started my apprenticeship at a small shop, so I had been in the setting. I certainly am not putting him down, but there are small "Intuitions," he hasn't developed yet, for example, he had trouble with righty-tighty, lefty-loosy, but he tried really hard.

Like you said about busting your ***, thats what I've found myself doing lately, AND enjoying it. When I was at the small shop, I found myself lazy, it was a depressing place to work in, very very very messy, I cleaned their one workbench (Bulk used oil storage, they burned it for heat) one day, and I worked part time, by the next time I was in, COMPLETELTY covered in junk, litterally just parts they replaced on vehicles. It was so bad, if a vehicle wasn't on one of the four post lifts, they'd lift it to use it as a work bench. It was so sad. But when I got to the GM dealership, there was (I assume) the normal metal container and garbage cans etc. it was beautiful and really uplifting that when you did clean something that it would be noticed/ appreciated/ and possibly kept clean.

Sorry about the rant though. I'm just extremely stoked for starting work part time at the dealership.

you do have a good memory! yep...living in (near) Truro for the last 11 or so years. Originally from NL though. Not sure why I changed my location...anyways...I love the Valley. get down there as much as we can. Bought a Triumph motorcycle in Windsor - beautiful place. I also used to do computer support for the parole offices in Kentville, Annapolis Royal and Yarmouth so I used to get down there a few times a month. I've actually had a vehicle serviced in that dealership. Seemed like a good bunch there.
Congrats once again and good luck at the dealership!

Here's my Mac box, had it for about 3 years now. It's fairly full, will try and get some more pictures with the drawers open soon. Most of it is Mac, few Snap-on, the Snap-on dealer round here has been ****, got through about 4 dealers in as many years.

Hey Macboy, sharp looking box!! I've never seen a box that color before. Are the graphics custom or did it come that way? As a fellow motorcycle tech, I'd love to see the tools hiding in those drawers. Any chance you could post some detailed pics?

Hey Honda guy, if you really like it there's one on Pittsburgh Craig's List that's been up for at least a month now.

This guy is listing this thing every couple of days, so I'd bet he's either pretty motivated to get rid of it or not listening to offers.

http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/tls/2302454820.html

Ya I've seen that to . Seams like he doesn't want to sell it to bad . Must be trying to keep his old lady happy .:lol_hitti

I just noticed earlier that it's in the barter section as well. I'm sure they're great boxes, but personally the graphics turn me off. Not that I have $5k or anywhere near the room or need for it myself.

I have also noticed that Mac box on Pittsburgh Craigslist, it seems like it's been there more than a month. The price recently dropped to $4795 (including the matching cart), but that still seems a little high.

I bought a KRL722 last week, I just about filled up and somewhat organized. I love the new box, I should have upgraded to a real toolbox years ago! I still have some room to grow, but I would love to add a top chest.

Craftsman and Snapon

Starting with the Craftsman, most of this stuff only gets occasional use.

Hey everyone, this is my first post here. After drooling over all these wonderful boxes, figure it's my turn. Start with a couple from a year or two ago in my old garage, I'll get some updated pics tomorrow.

Box is a Snap-On KRA2411 or Classic 78. Purchased this as well as a fair amount of tools at the vocational discounted price while i was a Diesel Tech student. (Dropped out after 1st semester cause I hated paying to learn things i already know, not to sound arrogant but the program was a joke.) I am currently 21 years old and am bouncing around between truck driving, mechanic work, and farm work. Waiting to hear on a mechanic job at a heavy truck shop in the Fargo, ND area soon.

Tools are roughly 50% Matco/Snap-On/Mac, 50% Craftsman, Northern Tool Brand, and other.

I'm reaching my space limits and am looking to upgrade to a KRL1023 or similar, have to wait and see if this new job goes through.

Like I said, couple years old.

Welderguy24- Welcome to GJ! I have the exact same box and your set of tools is practically the same set as mine! I can't believe that you have that much stuff at 21 years old... Where'd you get the pry bar rack??

It was on a Blue-Point service cart a friend had that he never used. It was orange and I bomb canned it blue and drilled different holes in it to line up with the holes on the box.

Sold my CM box that is on Page 116. I replaced it with an older Matco lower unit that is the same as K5blazer83's. His is an Armstrong though and has different pulls. Mine needs some TLC as far as the paint goes. I'll be repainting it in the next few months and post before and afters. Mechanically, the box is fine as its casters, slides, and lock all work well.

I like having the extra work surface I now have. I was just about to buy the US General box from HF. I was thinking about either the 56" or the 41" top/bottom. Glad I found this one though. It's a better box than I thought I would own. I also like the 24" depth. It measures 40"H x 53"W x 24"D and weighs a ton. The only I could have liked it better is if the deep drawer on the left would have been a little shallower and had another smaller drawer above it for fourteen drawers instead of thirteen. The small drawers have the same foot print area as a full drawer in my old CM's in the roll a way.

I did have to put all of the 3/4" drive tools back in its metal box and put it in the bottom drawer. Not a biggie as I don't use it very often. I may move some other things around too and get them out of that box.

It's nice to have most every thing in one box and nothing in my little cart. Now I can go back to filling it with only the tools I need when I wheel it around for a certain job.

If it holds what you need and does the job, there's nothing wrong with that. I had a unit like that and it lasted me for years until the Snap -On truck got a hold of me....

Afazz - That's quite a set up! Do you do much bodywork?

Thanks! I got these new toys this week:

I use my tools for hobby, I don't currently do bodywork professionally. Sometimes I help friends, but not for money or anything. The last 4 months (and next 3) have been sheet metal work so I've been loading up on tools. I'm working on a mk3 jetta, reshaping the entire engine bay with lots of custom sheetmetal. The next phase is the actual bodywork. Here are some pics:
