that bynford cart you have posted there appears to be the exact same one HF sells. I bought one of those and liked it except that the lid didnt open all the way vertical. I moved the shocks on it and made it work though. most people seem happy with this cart.

Well this is my first post here, I saw this thread and have seen page after page of amazing tool collections and setups so I want in.

This was my setup a little over 2 years ago: red craftsman lower, intermediate, and top boxes. Slides, no ball bearings, and it served its purpose for the first few years of my addiction to tools.

March 2010 I needed something bigger, just had more tools then drawers: picked up a new 41" wide Craftsman Stainless Steel lower and upper @ a super sale price ($960 w/tax). Ball bearing, I cut drawer liners for every drawer. The drawers were only a little over 17" deep and that bit me in the a** later.

Once my new Stainless Steel Craftsman box started to get full I decided to get a tool cart. I ended up with 2 of them.

Picked up this Yellow Blue Point cart up off of craigslist and put it at work.

Got this Black Blue Point cart off the truck and threw it in my home garage with my tool box for all the overflow of tools that I had. It's almost identical to the yellow one I found other then it has a can holder and a flip out shelf, but no screwdriver holder on the side.

This past February I came to terms with the fact that the 41" Stainless Steel Craftsmen wasn't big enough. So instead of buy a new box every year as the trend has been going I decided to buy a bigger box then I needed and keep it for a long time. I sold my yellow Blue Point tool cart and put my black one from my garage at work. And I ended up with a brand new Matco 5225RX roll cab w 6" spring casters, a 5225TCX top chest, and a 5025SCX side chest all in Sub Lime green w/ black trim. Now I still have a few unused drawers but I wont need to buy a box for quite some time.

Love that SubLime! First time I've seen it outside of Matco's website. Very nice. Reminds me of Arctic Cat's Limited Edition sleds from a couple years ago. No matter what everyone else will say, I think buying a box slighting bigger than you need is the smartest move. Gotta have room to grow somewhere!!

I have owned a Matco triple bay in Purple for quite a few years that was special order. Yes its overflowing would love to get top cabinet also to match it but my sons college comes first. once i am done with that then i will buy.

Sterff: I do oil them when I get a chance but the garage is not heated in the winter unless I am working in it. When I fire up the wood stove in the winter, the warm garage and cold tools is what makes them rust so much on me.

Yeah I have the same problem in our garage. I have to keep after the rust often.

A lot of my tools I find used so I have a lot of rust pitted stuff. I also sweat like a pig in the heat and humidity here in Houston, that also can do a number on tools. I wipe them off before I put them away, sometimes it's not enough. However, most of the stuff I've bought new over the years has stayed rust free.

used to live in duluth minnesota.. kept tools in a unheated 8x12 shed. to keep them from rusting i had to wipe them down with grease.
still have most of those same tools 15 years later

I have a small oil can that I squirt on the bare metal if I know Im not going to use my tools again in the near future and it usually keeps them rust free for a decent amount of time.

Drill bits (I break small ones just about every time, so when I find deals I buy extras)

Pro tip: You appear to have a Milwaukee drill there with a torque limiter on it for driving screws. Use the torque limiter for small drill bits and you'll never break another one again in your life. Usually the range is enough to go up to at least a 1/4" bit.

its a 350 bored .03 over, edelbrock eps intake, holley 670 street avenger, 4 bolt main, 325 hp and 380 ft-lbs. its in my 1986 chevy C10. once i bought the truck 4 years ago in high school and started working on it, thats when the tool addiction began. originally had a 305, their good but not much power. so this one does much better! btw. all my stuff is mastercraft, i just put mac tool and snap on stickers on it for the hell of it haha

Thanks! Most of the stuff in there I got when they were on special. Some stuff i got on ebay for dirt cheap. Yeah their matco ratchets. I like their 88 tooth ratchets and they had a deal for the set. Im counting down the days until my green dream is here. I like green

Bought the red one for when I worked at a body shop, got the black one for Christmas. Now that I'm laid off both are at home. Wish I got the NAPA or HF cart instead though. I have the whole kit, but I'm not using all of it yet until I get something with more room. You can piece together your own stuff though, don't need the entire kit.

Also it's a little too heavy for the three magnetic parts they give you, so I added a few strips of double sided tape

-P.S. My roommate has an EG Hatch with a B18 VTEC that's been Boosted. Fun little car when it's making more power than a brand new corvette (weighing a little over half of one!)
