I'm not sure about the socket trays. I bought them at the Swap Meet at the GM Nationals in Carlisle PA a couple years ago. I had to cut the 1/2" and 3/8" trays down to fit them in my 15" deep drawers. Notice that the rest of the 1/2" metric (blue) tray is in front of my cut down 3/8" tray. On the SAE (red) side, I was just able to cut the tray off because I don't have sizes that big.

OK, im sure it's the 50000th time it's been asked, but: Where do you get those plier organizers??

I made some from the grills of a couple broken halogen lanterns. I drilled a couple holes in the bottom of the drawer and zip-tied them in so they wouldn't move.

I've seen others that were cut outs from old dish racks. I've seen others that were made by bending wire racks from closet organizers. Pretty much anything that has plastic coated wire.

There are also several commercial versions out there.

Edit...
link to someone making them http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2002089&postcount=286

Thanks for the compliments

Is that Extreme toolbox made in USA?

The box is made in China. The quality seems to be very high. It has a lifetime warranty too. I always wanted a large box for the garage but did not want to pay SO prices. Had no luck finding a used truck brand box on Craigs list. Also was a little concerned about buying a box and finding out it has a loan on it.

I do hate buying China. All the tools inside are US though. Just received a set of SO 3/8" deep metric sockets tonight to replace my Craftsman set.

So this was one of the "special order" Extreme boxes? I spoke with them at length about the warranty and was told five years however the lifetime box was available for a little more cash. How long did you have to wait for yours? I was told 8 to 10 weeks to get one. Teriffic box BTW wherever it was made

Took about 7 days to get it. No special order.

Wow you guys have some mega boxes!

I haven't got a tool collection yet - just starting out.

My first buy was this 91 snap on box I picked up from kijiji a couple of days ago.

This site already has me dreaming of what i'm going to fill it with :)

The last pic is my dad's box

SO thats what my box is supposed to look like? :lol_hitti I have the same box as your snap on one but with a different name plate.. I suspect its an earlier on than yours. Is mine also supposed to have that trim though on the drawer 'handles'?

Nice box and nice top quality tools.
what brand screwdriver divider is that in the left back corner of the second drawer.
I need to organize mine. The SO tray mine came in is all cracked.

i think its a generic brand that sold throughout different brands. i bought it from the match guy but i've seen it in many different catalogs. i like it, i got for the screwdrivers and matco radiator picks tools that didn't come with a tray. i much rather have trays though, it stands out when something missing which happens a lot in a shop with 45 techs

What happened with that x3?

the vapor barriers(door frame seal) were leaking water into the cabin. it kept collecting under the carpets until the drivers noticed the left rear was damp. resealed vapor barriers, replaced the rear carpets, dehumidified and put the car back together.

yup, that's popular with some E36 and E46 models too....water pools in the pass side wheel footwell

Great looking set-up btw....love your box and tool collection

....this is for Grantcee
