for me.... the 16" Channellocks do just fine. I cannot imagine what i would ever use the 20" for....

sometimes it not a matter of capacity but a matter of leverage. I've had several projects where I've used mine and it was more for the extra torque you could apply more than the capacity of the jaws. The do make one hell of an oil filter wrench if you don't mind destroying the filter:)

Very true. This weekend I was using a different style of Channellock pliers and they gripped and worked great but I didn't have the leverage necessary, since they were too short.

So I finally got my drawers for my KRSC31. Basically I was able to add another drawer space since my wrenches and pliers don't have a depth of more than 2 inches.

To each his own, but for my money I put my old Channellocks up against anything!

hholmberg... I like my channellocks too... with some other brands including my big ole Protos, when I pick them up I always wonder if they are gonna work right or jam up in the 'channels'. But channellock always work right.

I have one set of gripex (12" or so) and like them for 'round stuff'. I have to admit those big ole gripexs in garfunkels picture get my peepee all puffy. :shocking: I'd have to put them in a seperate drawer or they would make all my channel locks pout and jam up on me I think

right now , I am happy to stay at the owner's request for the same [good] paycheck , the training will come , I have hundreds of classes at GM since 1984

wow that good. are your owner own Dodge dealership? if so, it is good for you because owner see you that you are good (or excellence) technician to work...

some technicians that i am working with, they will say yes or no to fix because some of them have their specialist while my specialist are Heavy line but i am willing to do all repairs if keep me busy instead send to home early ( i am still hourly since December 2005) the service managers who see and work with me never make offer me to change to flat rate or different pay issue... i am stay on hourly while i can... i did told former service manager that i will left the dealership if i had to switch to flat rate. they are never bother me about money or other thing. i am already had about 50 trainings but all of trainings are on websites and i am never being send to classes because no money and i told Chrysler company that i wont go to training if they dont prove the interpreter... i am required to have interpreter to learning and understand what teachers was talking about the trainings. ASE had to drop whole hassle problems about Interpreter when i told them about file the complaint against ASE with ADA. ASE already said they will provide the interepreter if they need it but required to have form from doctor that proof i am deaf. so well i am still fighting for my life to be equal with everyone in automotive industry. i am still best mechanic in my dealership even the master tech (part time) are too but he just had me to do all his works while he is off... Even he still got paid while i fixed or repaired it and if it still problems then i will said his problems but almost 99% of time he are correct! the reason why master tech want me to do his works because it will help me to learning and have more practices which help me more in real job when if master tech decided to left my work or was on vacation so i can do it...

i was told that they was happy that i can do all works and got it fixed in right way. even one former dealership technician was impressive of me that i fixed the diesel engine ( i am 21 years old) and i can fix or repair anything while there is many 21 years old techs do but not same with me... they tell me that i am good tech...

yeah i am understand as it is not that easy way to make money.. if want make lot of money then fix more and finish it more quicks... or be strave it... that reason i dont want go on flat rate soon because i had no certifed from Chrysler.. i only had ASE certifed as Engine repair... i did told other youngs to find other way to do the jobs... sometime it is stress for myself... but i am enjoying what i am doing so i am rather stay at dealership or work for Diesel truck....

Here's a quick pic of my new Mac Tech box. I haven't had time to clean it up or set it up yet.
I'll post some more after I get it "right".

Not bad for $3k

WHAT!!!!!:wtf: I bought the KR1200 last year for 1,200 dollars as it is about 18 years olds from my good snap on guy... he tried to offered me to buy new KRL1201 to match my bottom box to make good value but i told him that new KRL1201 are out of my budget so i had to buy KR1200... he had no problems and brought it to my work same day i told him that i buy that KR1200... i had no regret that i bought KR1200 because it is used and it still work good... i dont have to worry about dirty or dust or something but as used box then no worry unless grease on it or too dirty then it is time to clean up...

Those are my main toolboxes. I have 2 smaller roller cabinets and 2 more top boxes along with a large rolling toolchest holder all filled with miscellaneous tools. I also have 2 Knaack boxes full of pneumatic and portable electric power tools.

Thanks, I'm real proud of it. I'm really looking forward to gett'n it cleaned up a little and organizing my tools in it.

I priced the whole set out new and it was almost $12,500. Besides having a little "crud" in the drawer and a few small scratches, it's like new as far as I'm concerned. I've even found a few tools in it under the liners. A Blackhawk 8mm combo ratcheting wrench, a 16mm Craftsman Pro combo wrench, a Matco mini flex light and a few punches. I called the previous owner and he said "keep em".
Awesome!

Lots of tools accumulated over 40 years and most of them bought used. I have been taking pictures for insurance purposes and thought I would share them here.
