I almost forgot about this one. My dad upon his retirement as a helicopter & heavy diesel mechanic gave me his very first top box which he bought sometime around '69 - '70 while stationed in Vietnam. I've had this sitting in my garage for quite some time now and hopefully this summer plan on turning it into a restoration project.

That model was my first "real" tool box. For the wrench drawer, (because it was also a track box) I glued/pop riveted in descending order as needed; broom handle sections, wood dowels and steel rods to keep the two sets of craftsman RP wrenches for scooting all over the box. A friend still has the box and still uses the "wrench racks" I installed almost 40 years ago. (3M gorilla snot really does a good job holding...)

this is my box at work. a krl 1022, black with black trim, that i got about 5 years ago. before that i had a beat up macsimizer, maybe a little smaller in size. sorry about the crappy cellphone quality.

Though your toolboxes may not look as nice as mine I think its a safe bet that you have a very good understanding of how the inner workings of things work in general..... probably better than me.

Ive seen a lot of guys with various setups... It seems to me that the best guys out there that really understand the INNER WORKINGS of stuff work outta low end toolboxes. Theres way too many guys out there that get sucked into the "bling" and chrome.
I'm new here and this is my first post. I love this thread and all of the legendary tools boxes in it. My tool box at work, took the job that required me to get more tools. It's a work in progress, buy a new tool just about every payday. They work for what I do and I'm still in college so other expenses come first.

Yeah that's the only thing I don't have for it are the orginal keys. Luckily when my dad gave it to me it was unlocked. And for being a 40 year old box I was surprised that all the welds are still holding up so well. They sure don't make em like the classics any more that's for sure.

Yeah that is one thing that really ticks me off is when I see a tool box that takes you longer to find the tool than it does to get the job done with it. Especially when they look worse than an unorganized sock drawer.

OK, here is another of mine. I recently got a couple of toolboxes from an Estate sale. I really had no place for the Kennedy roller, but rethought the 3-4 buckets of hammers, hatchets, mallets, and handles I had, and MADE room for it, and better hammer/hatchet organization as well...
I also took advantage of the re-org to add the damn things to my inventory in progress; At least 73 hammers (not counting the four I bought today), at least 31 hatchets, and at least 11 axes and mauls. (I haven't counted Sledge hammers yet.) Not all the hammers are shone here either!
I think I could outfit about 1/2 a viking ships crew...
No before pics, but a massively overflowing bucket of hammers or hatchets looks mostly like a bucket of spare handles, so...
This is the box, its an 8 drawer (7 levels) Kennedy from the late 50's I believe:

I also rearranged a deep "hammering stuff" drawer in another box and a shallow drawer for heads needing handles and body work dollies.
The shallow one became a (mostly) Body work drawer:
the deeper one was reorganized, some really heavy stuff moved and is now mostly rock and rawhide mallets, tire irons, and such as well as one dolly too big for the body hammer drawer.
The "new" Kennedy:
Mostly carpentry hammers in this drawer, but a couple of Plastic, Engineers, and lead hammers:

I never dreamed anyone loved hammers like I do....
I'd feel like a kid in a candy store, if I were digging in that box....

This set up is really awesome!
I´m SO tempted to add 2 of these side lockers to my set up.
They are nice but I wish they had a few more drawers in them. I didn't take pics of it but I keep a lot of my precision electronic tools in there when I work on circuit boards plus some soldering supplies. Im kind of torn right now on whether to buy back my mid size cab with all drawers that I originally traded in to get this cabinent or eventually just save up and buy another one. He's making me a really good deal on it but then again as dusty as my garage can get the cover does not adapt to the mid cab's.

The punches are cheap-o ones from Princess Auto (our HF here in Canada)
I think they are "powerfist" brand. $15 bucks or so
Wrench3047 is correct. They are "micro bore" lines attached to hydraulic pressure guages. The are a quick way of tapping into pressure ports/guage ports on hydraulic systems without shutting down the machine. Mostly used on production machines.
