Maexle....is that a blueprint file cabinet??? love it man also, my dad would love that HARLEY theme box

Yepp, i've converted a Old Blueprint cabinet into my "mothership" tool box ( brand: STACOR)

That thing is a mule....so heavy and strong....... the roll around is a customized old beaten up Kennedy tool box.....

A bit work (paint, stickers, wooden top, lexan side walls, diamond plate, etc...) and i've had my "dream" roll around....

Maexle, that looks like my bedroom, lol... Very nice blueprint cab conversion. I may have to watch for them at auctions more, looked at some but drawers were shallow.

Here is mine, it's the old Matco MB2010. After 22 years, it is on the verge of being replaced. I'm going with a shorter (height), modular design, comprised of two Snap On boxes. The hutch and top, which are about 18 years old, will be reused.

This is my main toolbox now. I have semi-retired my 1970's vintage Snap-On box and roll-cab into service as my machine tooling box, and the vintage Rem-Line at the right of this pic is now used as my "house" box in the attached car garage.

Steevo, I love what you have built as a work bench, and if space permitted, I would most likely copy that design to a point.

Some amazing setups here. Mine is very humble! I just fix my own cars and sometimes my friends and don't even have a garage of my own. A friend has kindly let me use his garage so that's where the pics are from. Most of my car repair work is out on the street in Scottish horizontal rain!

This was my only tool box for fifteen years:

My spanners were in a Pringles tube, the socket set sat on top and I had a cheap nasty tool bag for my breaker bar, torque wrench and other bits and bobs.

Then I bought a Peugeot 306 and joined an owners club. I learned a lot from them on how to tackle jobs on the car and it gave me the confidence to do a lot more work on the car myself. So I started spending money on more tools. I bought a load of spanners but the only place I could keep them was in a bucket! So I bought a second hand Clarke HD chest for £60:

It was great having all my tools organized and easy to access. I liked my car and wanted to keep it a long time so replaced and upgraded the whole front suspension and a load of other jobs. Then the engine blew! I found a Citroen with the same engine for £325 which I've been driving around in for months now. I'm swapping the engine from that into to the Peugeot so it's a good excuse for buying more tools! More tools means bigger box time so I was delighted to score this for £85 off Ebay:

It's a Sealey AP4805s. The box is a customer return due to dents. You can see the dents and rust on the top. Functionally it's brand new though and is mint inside. I love the 440mm depth of the drawers but they're only 49mm high so I have to watch how I lay stuff out. I've only a couple of photos of the contents as I'm still sorting my tools out in it.

Thanks guys, i've had the idea with the blueprint cabinet once while i was sitting in my office at work (got a similar cabinet there which gets barely used nowadays).

I love it and that thing is a beast (Brand is : STACOR), i just re-organized the garage and pushed the complete full box from one side of the garage to another on my own without problems (heavy duty castors is the secret...).

I always keep my eyes peeled for another one (future garage).

The "Kennedy-Harley" box is my roll-around toolbox, i like the Kennedy boxes, i think the quality is good and they pop up on CL pretty often for a decent price.

don't worry about the shallow drawers, i've combined the two bottom drawers to one deeper drawer for power tools, etc....

That's an easy modification, on my next one i will probably combine 4 drawers into two deep drawers.

That Harbor Freight setup looks really nice. That's a lot of storage for the money. I used to have one of those 42" boxes too so I know they're an excellent bang for the buck. I had no regrets with mine but just found a nice deal on an old Snap On cabinet that I couldn't pass up. Otherwise the HF box would still be sitting in my garage. I sold it for $350 too (just the 42" roll cab.) so you have a good resale value to look forward to should the need arise.
