Yea, my KRL761 came with the tote and a metal sliding tray

I didn't realize the tote cost $80. Is very sturdy though, I use it all the time the powder coating has great scratch resistance and build quality is what I would expect from Snap On

I just built my garage last year, was lurking a long time to gather ideas. I started creeping this thread because once the concrete is down I am looking to by my first roll cab base.

While looking through the pages of this thread, someplace in the 340-350 page someone posted the exact same top box I have. Never thought I would see another one. My dad gave it to me when I was a kid and he bought a full SO box and outgrew the Craftsman back in the early 80's. The other guy said he got his in the 70's so I dont even know how old it is.

It is too bad they dont make them like this anymore, the stuff I look at in Sears now just doesn't feel the same as this when i open it.

I would love to find one of these I would buy it in a minute. Or the older ones sears use to have with either the black or dark gray drawers.:bounce:

Agree on the "too bad they don't make 'em like that anymore" comment.

I bought that same box new in the early 70's and those were made for at least ten years, well into the sixties, not sure how much later. It probably had a Productions run of twenty years or so, maybe more.

I later gave that box to a friend, and it's still in use!

I just picked this thing up about 3 weeks ago it's an old Waterloo TR11815. no ball bearing slides, but this things probably 300 lbs empty. doesn't look it but the metal on my cheap old box is thicker than all but one of the guys I work with. 3 guys I work worth have the higher end boxes. Mac, snap on, matco. and I wouldn't trade this Waterloo for one of them. https://imageshack.us/a/img705/3739/resizedimage95135820067.jpg

Box has been shown in this thread- and already updated in another green thread- but some updated drawer pics added... Plus I moved some small drawers around a bit!

This is a home use tool box, so not too many fancy tools, but have a decent amount to get stuff done with!

1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 sockets on HF racks and the rest foam cut by yours truly!

3/4 drawer. Sockets foamed, wrenches tossed in! Don't use much- but they were a he'll of a deal!

It's a little known secret (unknown to all but extreme green owners) and a guarded secret that even after killing the lights, extreme is SO BRIGHT it glows for a few minutes until it cools off!!! Dont believe me, see the next pic!

All in all, more than I need as a weekend warrior, so still pleased with the classic 96 trio setup!

Nch209, how tall are you? Is it easy to reach up into that hutch and grab stuff?

That's an interesting setup for your box. I've got a Classic 78 myself, but have the standard setup on top, the hutch and then the overhead storage box. The Classic boxes are definitely a bit low in height for me (I'm 6'2"), and your setup is intriguing.

I have outgrown the Snap-On toolbox in my enclosed trailer and was getting tired of having to dig through everything to find the tool I was looking for. I ordered a new Snap-On toolbox a few weeks ago and it showed up week before last. Saturday had temperatures above freezing for the first time in the last month so I took advantage of it and switched toolboxes around. My son wanted the smaller Snap-On box to put on top of his Snap-On KRA bottom chest.

Here is the old one, you can see how stuffed it is.

Here is the new one (KRA4014FPBO) set in place to mark for mounting holes prior to removing the plastic.

Tools switched over, even some room for expansion.

Looks pretty good bolted to the workbench in its' new home.

While I was working in the trailer I decided to also mount my PitPal race jack mount.

Nice neat, like the foam. Where do you guys buy your foam from?

Mine came from foam factory, and I cut it in. I'm very happy with them!

^^that home box is bigger than my work box.
Thanks! Box was bought used at a fraction of the price of new, and parts and tools are always bought used, on sale, or hand me downs. Nothing special, but works for me!

Very nice nch!!
Thanks!

That's an interesting setup for your box. I've got a Classic 78 myself, but have the standard setup on top, the hutch and then the overhead storage box. The Classic boxes are definitely a bit low in height for me (I'm 6'2"), and your setup is intriguing.

6'3" here, so the hutch height is fine. Wouldn't want to have to work off of the top box to do really work, but that's what my bench is for. I forget how tall it is, but I can reach the back corners if needed, but then again it's only 24" deep. It works well for storeage, and after all that's what a hutch is for. Personally, I think the hutch really limits your box potential anyway, so this kida puts it up and away--- if that makes sense!

I had a 78 myself and it's a fine box, but this popped up with the hutch soi grabbed it, and then searched for the used top (my mid) box, and found it a few months ago.

Believe it or not, I made an offer for the top storage bins like yours, and kinda glad I didn't get them,,,, they would be about useless since they would be so high up!!! :shocking:

What is the mat you have on top?
If your talking to me, the mat on the top box is just what came from SO on the bottom box, and just a layer of foam atop of it to hold my remotes, charger, and adult beverages snugly in place...

Here mine. It's a Snap On 1033. I bought it off of CL for 3,900.00 with the stainless top. I had about four different boxes with stuff spread all over and got fed up with it. I had looked for this particular box for several months (I couldn't justify over 10,000.00 or 11,000.00 for it new plus the top). I am in love with it because it has soooo much room. I have three drawers that are completely empty! Guess I know what I will be spending all my spare cash on now. Hope you enjoy.

I was able tp get almost all my stuff I use most in the top two drawers. I feel like this is a good problem to have.

Applying for credit to buy a toolbox, crazy, but I guess that's how most are able to afford these high end boxes. At first I was thinking people had the $ to buy them outright.

It's no different than a work truck that someone "needs" for work. I guess the high-end tool box is more practical than a dozen 5-gallon tool buckets.
